I started giving a base floor underneath the cathedral.

I am making a floor 3 blocks under the birch for now across the whole area. I will come up with an idea later on how better to work with it. That's a start though.

I don't play Minecraft but dear god post more pictures of your projects! I love seeing projects like this being done. My roommate and another friend have been busy building a (slightly) racist theme park on the weekends, they dubbed it Dixieland. Fun to see progress.

I wouldn't do the whole area since that will exclude others from being able to use it. I'd focus on a wing that isn't on top of a chasm or something, preferably one of the western wings.

Anywhere there is something underneath I will skirt around. This also gives us a sub floor so that if something needs to be done just below the surface they can. That 3 block dead zone is where a 'crypt' won't encroach into, a DMZ.

In my mind DMZ means full access, no restriction. Not the opposite.

And I'm not planning some twisty crypt, I mean we can do that to. I want a grandiose chamber 10's of blocks tall.

DMZ means both sides are hands off. You are corrupted by the router concept which is still the same but people don't realize it.

Here's the skeleton of the western three turtles, feel free to fill them in in the same way that the SE turtles are filled in. Also post any ideas you have on the vault design of the SW wing.

Also there's four towers at the main eastern area that need to be built up to the first floor, Apostle laid the ground work, feel free to build those up too!

I kinda wish Mojang would transfer Minecraft into something NOT java, so it would stop running like shit. Texture packs seem to kill off my fps for some reason, especially on all of these large scale multiplayer projects.

Cathedral is coming along nicely, although i'm curious about how the lighting is going to look like once the roof's done.

I would put some therious thought into doing a floor design. It really steps up the sexy, and you could incorporate floor lighting that way.
