It's 100% because NPR is paid for by the government, rest must be indirect and it's intentionally being obscured by the government... well not anymore thanks to Trump.

I've gone back and forth on this topic over time. I've been using online communities since it was back in the dial up BBS days of the mid 80's. I'm firmly now in belief that we need established right to privacy and anonymity with the nature of the world today and the ability of mass scale doxxing. Back in the 80's and 90's I was a shade more laisse-faire with it, and figured "If you find out who I am and come to screw with me be ready to get screwed back". Now a days it's possible to artificially charge up a 200 person mob in under a day against someone.

Now the realist in me also realizes the government has enough information and metadata on all of us to identify anybody if they really wanted to. So if it's protection from the government you're looking for.. well.. best of luck and I'd recommend buying a lot of guns and ammo.
