I really like all the hand-drawn illustrations they had in old Nintendo Powers. I suppose they did it that way mainly becausegamesweren't big enough to have marketing budgets of their own at the time. Even so, it really gives those old issues a pretty distinct style that was lost over the course of the magazine's run.

I think I still have a lot of those old issues shoved in a closet at my grandmother's house. Recently over Christmas, i found a TON of old GamePro's and EGM's. I remember being STARVED for updates on stuff like the SF2:CE and rumored home Turbo Editions. The nearest arcade was 45 minutes away and me and my buds were chomping for it.

I remember seeing an M. Bison cover onVideoGamesand Computer Entertainment in some grocery store, snatching it up, and salivating then getting pissed because it was coming for GENESIS. That would be the Special Champion Edition. I was fully embroiled in the Nintendo camp of the console wars and was fuming! Then Turbo got announced and I breathed a sigh of relief.

It may sound trivial, and I haven't played an SNES game in 15 years but if I live to be a million years old I will still remember the muscle movement of loading a cartridge and the clunk sound of turning the power on. And I will always remember the initial and build up music of SF2: CE, and the sound of putting the alternate colors code in.

Zelda 2 cover is horrible and Wrestlemania artwork is even worse! They look like deformed retards.
