As tempted as I am to watch it with the wife, I might have to do a pass. One of the last show that we watched together was at night sky with JK Simmons, and that got axed after the first season. I just can't stand the stupid streaming stuff dragging out seasons of whatever show even if they're pretty good. But notice that now all of them release their episodes weekly versus dumping them out like Netflix used to.

Got to keep up that stupid subscription, and we'll make certain story is never concluded and you need to resubscribe when the next season comes out.

I'm kind of getting that way with yellow jackets right now, which is probably one of the better says I've watched in a long time.

I did watch Masters of the air recently, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. So goddamn good.

I really, really liked the first season and while I'm negative on season two it's very popular. Most of the stuff I don't like I knew watching it that other people would feel the complete opposite.

I'm feeling a little like I've been transported back to 2008. Getting serious Lost season 4 vibes, when that show started going off on long tangents that weren't really even related to the main storyline.

I read that the Severance showrunners weren't really sure what they were going to do once Season 1 ended. I assumed that they figured it out since they made Season 2, but now it's seemingly like maybe not so much lol.

Show is still really well done, so I'll keep watching. But def getting mission creep/filler vibes.

A teenage Cobel coming up with severance tech while being addicted to ether would fit, since Lumon is functionally retarded which is why it's so fun to watch.

I don't mind the story implications, but jesus that episode was painful to watch.

10 minutes of driving through the snow

5 minutes of aggressively brushing teeth while staring in to the void

10 more minutes of destitute town and driving

Holy shit it was so fucking boring

It was nice of her childhood friend to wait outside in the truck at zero degrees while she slept in her mother's deathbed. Here, take my truck. It will strand me with no way back to town but go ahead.

This after spending a bunch of screen time with her searching through the house, her old room, her mom's room that was locked, looking for the key, where's the key, I FOUND THE KEY, nope not here, time for bed, oh right it's probably all in the root cellar yep there it is thanks bye. I invented Severance at 14 while high as a kite on ether in a cave with a box of scraps.

It's another episode this season that looks like it was from a different show entirely.

yeah it is super jarring after another weird episode. I think the contents of this episode would have been better split up across 3-4 episodes in the entire season.

1 more episode to go, we'll see if they stick the landing but this episode has me thinking maybe not. Way too much to wrap up and I don't really even have a direction anymore for where the show is going. I honestly have no idea what Lumon is trying to do anymore, and it makes absolutely zero sense for Kobel to have invented Severance with so many insane details (glasgow, overtime, etc) on her own as like what, a fucking 8-12 year old lol.

All the revelations this episode are really hard to fit in the lore, I hope they can pull it off next episode but I don't really see how. Everything about this episode from the writing, pacing, cinematography, acting, sets, and costumes were all a step back from episode 7.

We get two episodes, this one was eight. It's enough to establish some stakes and a direction with 9 and then a climax/conclusion plus cliffhanger for 10.

Episode 8 is what you get when you take an episode's B plot and stretch it to full length. Severance doesn't really do the A plot B plot episode structure much if at all but for this one they really should have. We could have spent half the run time anywhere else doing anything.

On a more serious note I thought this episode was going to quickly set up some stakes for the final episode but instead it was a lot of silent shots of people's faces. I guess all we're getting for episode 10 is Cold Harbor at 100% and maybe Mark has a "I remember everything" moment fresh out of Resident Evil before we smash cut to credits?

Some of the discussion channels I watched about this show think Helly might try and take Gemma body and other crazy shit. They think Eagens might rotated through bodies , taking turns running the company or something.

Also pretty sure Helly is pregnant.

I couldn't be bothered to rewind a bit and figure out what the big reveal at the end was. I looked up from my distraction just as the music got all "omg!" and such, and then saw her talking on the phone to the Scouts. Can you share what the big reveal was in a spoiler TBDW (too boring didn't watch)?
I'm an episode behind. I'm reading this thread mid episode because it's fucking terrible and I give zero shits about Kobel. Not only is it boring and about characters I don't care about, but it's also super dark and everyone is doing their best mumbles and nonsensical severance-world talk.

Read the reveal and...so what? Why do I care whatsoever? This is becoming a mystery box show where the mysteries aren't even interesting. They've made some bizarre world where they want to keep it all mysterious but they give us so little to grasp on to that you can't even get invested because there's nothing there to build any cohesive narrative.

Maybe the next episode is going to bring it all together, but like someone else said, this really seems more like they're just trying to put pieces in place for season three, or maybe even season four. There isn't enough time left for anything to get resolved for the audience.

Sherilyn Finn… there’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time.gif

Am I the only one thinking this could end up like the ending of Dollhouse? Am I the only one whoever watched Dollhouse? Maybe it is Dichen Lachman being around part that makes me feel that.

The lets huff ether together and make out episode was really off putting and not great. Still excited for the finale though.

yeah last 2 episodes have been kinda dull and you also realize the show works best when its Mark + Helly + Dylan + Irving + Milkshake together, splitting them all up just doesn't work because none of them are that great characters on their own.

i'm hoping for a killer finale but i have a feeling season 2 is gonna be written off as a sophomore slump season

I'm hoping for Milchick to turn and eventually help out Mark and the others. I really enjoy when he's on the screen.

I'd say the writer's strike and production hell this went through probably should've clued us in that they wouldn't pull this off.

on the plus side its already greenlit for season 3 and they have been working on scripts for 2 months now so hopefully its 12-16 months till s3 drops, not 3 years. 2 new showrunners too which i'm not sure if thats good or bad (s2 kinda sucks so fresh blood might be good, on the other hand they could fuck it up even worse)
