I've been watching Let's Play videos of the 7 or so SRR videos and a ton of the SR SNES/Genesis versions just to get myself used to the universe and especially the lingo that is used.

1pm EST tomorrow (I think) can't come soon enough.

The SR world is probably my favorite original IP. There is a lot to know though. If you want a brief synopsis of the universe look here:http://old.shadowrun4.com/resources/timeline.shtml

You can also look in the Resources tab up top for a page on slang.

You're definitely going to get a different play through based on what you spec.

Hell, being extremely charismatic is apparently a very powerful build.

I'm becoming rather partial to going this route and being a decker and just having a hired army to protect me while I do whatever horrible things to the mega corps.

Both games were fun in their day, but I enjoyed the Sega Genesis version of Shadowrun more. Check it out if you haven't tried it before.
I played it a little bit, i enjoyed cyberspace more, but game never really hooked me in, what do you think is better in the genesis version?

Genesis version is more open world and delves more into the Shadowrun universe. The story in the SNES version is better, though.

I like them both, and SRR looks extremely promising. I pre-ordered a while back and am stoked for release.

Fuck you all. I was hoping to hold out for reviews of this but there is just too much enthusiasm in here for that....and my first ed rules on my bookshelf are making me feel bad about it too

What a weird time for a release. Oh well, pre-ordered it as I love to play with editors and Im sure the base game will be fun.

Sucks it's not localized release time, guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to play.

I loved the Shadowrun universe as a kid. Quite enjoyed the books as well when I was around the 13-15 year old range.

Now to give this a shot at 37 and see how nostalgia holds out. =)

He makes it sound like exactly what I was hoping for. Except for the whole check point saving, what the hell were they thinking with that...
That kind of save system is bad enough when dealing with console ports. When it's a PC exclusive it's mind boggling.

I'm glad he mentioned that the music is good, as I decided to order the deluxe version. I've become a bit of a sucker for that lately when it includes soundtracks.

Played the SNES version when I was a kid. I really enjoyed that game, (even if I cheesed the hell out of it by farming max karma with an auto fire controller in the vampire's dungeon.) Reading the reviews it seems SRR is screaming to be fleshed out with some User Created Content. I am going to just enjoy the main campaign, if the systems in place seem worthwhile I might try my hand with the editor.
