Don't have to drag and drop, just click the huge +.

Anyone have thoughts on decker stuff yet? I bought the Renraku deck, -75IP nuke, the -50/25/25 DoT, Shield, and Suppression (no idea what this actually does), and an assassin ESP (is this really consumable, as in 500 nuyen every time I want to use one?). Haven't actually used any of it though.

Definitely regret going Decker. Not enough use for a Decker in this campaign and too much combat to really make the character enjoyable. It would be cool to be able to do more matrix stuff. Ah well.

Yeah it seems pretty much entirely combat based so adepts and samurai seem like they'd be the most fun. Shamans look decent as well.

So apparently the game is bugged, I finish the mission in the blackbox area thing, talk to the NPC at the end and it just stops, nothing to click, to progress the dialogue further, nothing happening at all. Tried restarting the level, same shit.

Ah nvm went to look for the bug, apparently you just click where the dialogue option should be and it works.

I can't buy it for another hour or so when I get a cash transfer sadly, but I was thinking about going Decker once I started it. Is there just not that much stuff to do with one? I tend to like to be able to pick any lock/hack anything in games so I can get every single thing.

Decker is very useful in the last mission you do before you have access to hire runners. I'm not actually sure how you complete it without one, but obviously there must be a way. Past that, you can just hire a decker when you need one, and save yourself from having to invest in int at all. You'll only miss out on decker stuff in conversations that way, and much of that is either just flavor or easily bypassed with another skill/stat/etiquette.

I'm sticking with mine anyway, though.

Decking is going to get very useful later. Don't throw in the towel so quick. Budos and I got kinda far and I already had one pain in the ass mission (he lol'd at it cuz he is one) to deal with not being a decker.

Degrade + lots of programs to follow you is stronk as phuk.

It seems like this game goes the same way as a lot of other RPGs too in that your character always ends up out front, and always gets targeted over anyone else.

So it's probably best not to have your character be anything too squishy.

Rerolled a few times at the start of the game, did that opening area with the flashback and the market stuff like 4 times before I settled down on my current char, melee samurai, nothing fancy. That said the upgrades are pretty slow to come so I think a Chi using melee might have just been better, even though it might eventually change.

I tried bear shaman for a bit, that looked very strong even though a bit cheesy, you get a free aoe heal every 2 turns with the totem and you can spam summons if you spend the money on it which basically saves you one merc slot every mission and cost less, so far(since you get free summons from the environnement things sometimes and you can fall back on spells/weapons if you don't wanna waste money).

Avoiding Decker stuff for a 2nd playthrough with that as a focus. Kinda disliked mages, but you can do some serious aoeing if the enemies clump up, other than that though felt pretty shitty, eats AP like crazy and doesn't do a whole lot of single target damage. Tried the robot users as mercs and didn't really like it, plus shit doesn't do what it says it does(medic bot says shrapnel heals targets but it's just normal dmg) as well as bugged the game twice, once I had to restart the level and the other one it bugged for like 30secs.

Cool game though, story is pretty nice so far.

Decker is strong. If you actually spec for it (I take Cha & Body along with int/decking/esp) you FLY through the matrix stuff. Not to mention all the safes you open without a sweat because you have a high decking skill. Charisma & decking save lots of time and hassle.

Just put 8 hours into the game. Really enjoying it.

Playing a dwarf melee with some chi, he is pretty beastly so far.

Having a decker seems damn handy with all the things I see for it. Also running with a mage and shaman in my group is amazing +AP, +armor, heal, etc to let me just runs around the map and wreck stuff with my axe is amazing.

I was an hour or two ahead of Budos when we were talking on steam, he caught up to me because of how fast he can do the decking stuff.

Then again, I feel like my combat is just overkill.

Buff aim from mage, air elemental buffs quickness, shaman buffs haste (+1 extra AP to give a reload after every full auto), decker marks targets, full auto (rifle) insta kill on mobs from there, the rest easily spend their remaining AP taking out one more. 100% chance of killing 2 npcs a turn is crazy. By instakill I mean like 280 damage or some shit and 99% hit chance, 80% if they have good cover and it still instant kills with half the hits.

Only regret is I wish I did 2 cyber legs for the added quickness + the eye instead of an arm.

Can you get more essence somehow? And what is the CAP stat on rifles? Other than that I got it figured out and I'm looking forward to people (or maybe helping others) making some really hard (Balroc hardcore style) campaigns.

For the double: can't destroy cover. Not sure if corrupted by XCOM and just can't get over it.

Mages seem vaguely underpowered so far. Lots of restrictions, relatively small damage.
I haven't even gotten a chance to play the game yet so this may not be the problem, but just remember: MANAbolt against armored targets and POWERbolt for Mage types.

The "Life on a Limb" campaign has tons of battles because of random encounters (which is similar to the old Shadowrun games). It is constantly keeping you low health or requiring you to run away. Though it isn't complete it looks like it has several hours of its 100+ hour campaign completed so far.

Do love the tons of side quest stuff with conversations that can turn out any number of ways. This game's going to be like a fine wine.

Anyone have any opinions on whats the best etiquette(s) to choose? Minor chat spoilers.

Seems like they are fairly spread out early on. Security seemed useful, used a Shadowrunner but I don't think it was needed. Academic and corporate could have gotten me more money. Haven't seen Street, Socialite, or Gang.

Saw security early on but all it cost me was a few extra nuyen or running around to circumvent it. Think I saw socialite once, never saw Street or Gang.
