this guy fucksWell, I think it might not be as fucked up as I immediately thought.
Let's say that laptop is directly logged into Intersite's hosting platform's control panel front end, and initiating the transfers from Intersite's live platform to Pied Piper's, since those are the ones with the bandwidth to handle that transfer.
We could say Intersite's cloud platform has a really shitty front end, and holding delete with the currently selected objects deletes them from the cloud platform.
Now, obviously Intersite would have backups, but they still deleted all that video from the live platform, so they're going to lose days of revenue until they restore it all from mass storage to the cloud platform, 10s of millions of dollars of revenue.
It almost, kinda, works. About as well as the Kessel Run.
That kind of thing actually does happen. Plenty of start ups don't use source control or use it wrong/poorly.Really? In season 01 the entire premise of The Carver was reliant upon Pied Piper not having version control.
If its a paid site then no, they arent losing any revenue they just will have some unavailable content for a few days. If its a free site they would still have thousands more hours of content. I jerk off a ton and I doubt I would notice if any site I go to lost that content.Well, I think it might not be as fucked up as I immediately thought.

Compression bro. Pay attention here! The files are miniscule because their compression is the most amazing thing on the planet! If its a paid site then no, they arent losing any revenue they just will have some unavailable content for a few days. I would love to see the hard Disks that are able to rewrite 9000 hours of High Definition video in 2 minutes.
Intersite needs some Business Continuity planning. Very badly if that was the case!If its a paid site then no, they arent losing any revenue they just will have some unavailable content for a few days. I think he is just trying to hide how massive a fuck up this is from anyone. He tried to blame it on Jimmy Barrett from Mad men so the world wouldnt equate him to a massive failure. I dont think its so much that he would be ousted by the board, but rather that they are the ones who would be the first to see behind t he curtain.Intersite needs some Business Continuity planning. Very badly if that was the case!
So is Gavin the CEO of Hooli? Why is he afraid of he board? Or are we to assume he doesn't have full control of the company?
Except in the real world you just go jerk it to something else on the site. You think people are sitting there on their computers, dick in hand, and when they don't find the video they're looking for they say "Welp, guess we'll just do this another time" and put their pants back on?Now, obviously Intersite would have backups, but they still deleted all that video from the live platform, so they're going to lose days of revenue until they restore it all from mass storage to the cloud platform, 10s of millions of dollars of revenue.
Yeah, that's how I took it too.My read on the board is that he doesn't have majority control anymore and they'll can him as CEO if nucleus flops.
The board of any company can have the CEO out on his ass if he fucks up. Well, most companies I guess. That is how it works.Intersite needs some Business Continuity planning. Very badly if that was the case!

That's not really what suspension of disbelief means, and it's not about complaining or trying to sound smart, and trying to say a scene that definitely raised issues and broke their typical tightness and accuracy is 'sad' is dumb.Complaining about a show that's awesome because you want to sound smarter than a show who's primary purpose is to make you laugh...is sad. They are spot on most of the time, the stuff in this show isn't real, it's not reality.
I watch it last, to end my day on a high note.I watch this show first on Sundays. Love it.
