Hah, that question is asked every 5-10 posts in the XDA thread. Molesarecoming (the dev) doesn't like cluttering up the settings, so pie just enables itself when it's needed: when the nav bar isn't being shown. The only times that happens is as Dauntless said, when expanded desktop is enabled or when you set the nav bar height to 0%.
That's why I hate XDA. There's a search bar tosearch this threadbut people still feel the need to ask again.

Anyway, I didn't like the earlier incarnations of PIE. The current Feb28 one is perfect and easy to get use to... Expanded desktop + PIE + custom launcher is the best thing to come to any Android phone (or even any smartphone).

So Denamian and Mageling, what launcher are you guys using? I'm using ADW Ex and it's not bad. I bought it a long time ago for really cheap (I think during the 10 cent deals). Overall features is good, but could be a tad bit smoother. Using the fly in, I can see very slight lag.

I'm pretty sour about missing out on the 25 cent Nova Launcher Prime though. Not really wanting to shell out 4 dollars on a launcher that is barely any better than what I have.
I usually use Nova Prime, but I also have ADW EX and Apex Launcher Pro. It seems people who are doing a lot with UCCW widgets prefer theme with Apex though, so I'm probably going to run that for a while.

Battery life continues to be good as long as I leave Google Now turned off, which is a bummer, since I like it. I'm using Nova Prime launcher, UCCW, etc to customize it. My latest: The blue circles is battery life.

I have always liked that kind of stuff for battery life, but at the end of the day I always want to see an actual percentage number. No matter how cool or clean some of them look, I always revert back to having a number to look at.

Accidentally went over my data plan by 2GB and change last month (phone was in my pocket, on silent, trying to download an app over and over and over all day and I was busy, didn't check). I just got my bill and it's $200 over the regular amount. I had already called Rogers and was told there was nothing they can do until the bill is sent to me and I've paid it.

I'm gonna fight this one. If they don't kill the overcharge, I'll just end my contract (and my wife's as well) early, pay the penalty, and go elsewhere for a better deal. Fuck Rogers.

I know I am saying what every other person out there says, but if I buy a 2GB limit and I don't use it, I should get the remainder carried over. I rarely use more than half of my limit, yet I know the second I go over, they will be all over me with overcharges, even though I am not even using what I am paying for 95% of the time.

Is this from that iPhone/iOS bug? They definitely ought to reimburse you for that...

Unsure. I can't prove it one way or another at this point as this happened two weeks ago. I'll see what they say when I call them (after I'm billed).

It's Rogers, so they probably won't lower the payment. It's $200, so I'm not going to go apeshit on them -- I'll just never do business with them again, which is probably fine by them, because they're huge.

Sprint's 3G speeds suck hairy donkey balls, but once they get LTE rolled out, that unlimited 4G is gonna be nice.

Why not just setup a hard limit for your 3g traffic ? I know android has this option integrated in jelly bean and there's a thousand apps on the market that do the same thing. Guess it's the same for iOS.

Around here they just throttle your speed to 128/64 kbps when you go over, there's no overcharge.

The problem is that you don't have ready access to the data that your provider has about how much data you've used that month. They do, however, and there should be the option for a killswitch once you've hit your limit. Instead, they just text you when you hit the limit, then every once in a while they text you how much they're going to bend you over for because you've exceeded it.

Chances are excellent that I'm going to tell them to shove it when I call them later today (got the actual bill this morning, so I can dispute it now).

Also, I wish they just throttled us once we hit the limit, but they want us to go over the limits so that they can charge us unreal amounts of money. That's how their business model works in this country.

Edit: Just called them, and they are going to analyze how I used the data before they tell me what they're going to do for me. I can tell them how I used it -- it was downloading apps from the App Store -- but we'll see what they say when they call me back. I'm playing dumb at the moment and will tell them that I have no idea what it was downloading, because it was in my pocket all day and I was busy away from my desk (which is absolutely true).

So my phone's notification light had been flashing for a while due to low battery, and when I am about to charge it I realize it's been over a day. I check my battery stats and am greeted by this:

Granted, this was fairly light use, mostly texting, email and web browsing, but I'm pretty happy with it. This was on PA 3/3 with Franco Kernel r95.

Fianc? had her Galaxy Nexus crushed over the weekend. The company we have the insurance through didn't have any Galaxy Nexus phone to replace it with, since Verizon has always pretty much shit all over supporting that phone. They did however offer her a Galaxy S3. Now I'm considering "losing" my phone.

What kind of widget/lockscreen/launcher apps are people running on their G3? I started messing with the locks screen aps like Widget Locker and I can't get the calender/weather app to look example the way I want.

I use Nova Prime for a launcher and love it. I played around with Widget Locker for awhile, but instead went with Executive Assistant. I like being able to see what emails I have waiting for me in my Exchange and personal accounts just by waking the screen. It shows calendar, texts, calls, etc, too. You can add any other widget to it for display on the lock screen. I highly recommend looking into the free UCCW. There's a bajillion weather widgets (and other things) for it.

I can't stop trying different customizations.

Reflashed my Galaxy S3 up to 4.1.2 and installed CleanROM 6.0. Pretty happy with the results. Although I can't really tell if it is snappier or not, it is nice to have all the bullshit bloatware removed. I wasn't really paying attention to my battery life until I checked it yesterday, pretty damn impressive IMO.

Question gents!

I'm of the mind to replace my mega shitty droid X2 and am thinking of either the Driod DNA (insane screen) or the Galaxy Note 2 (the wacom & s-pen) and want to know if anyone has any experience with either.

I don't really *use* a smartphone for anything other than calls/txt/toilet browsing/occasional video watching. Since I have an Asus 10" pad, I do "smartphone" shit on that. For mobile gaming, I'm generally very close to an Asus G75, relegating the phone to third-rung status. I'm not buggered at all about the smartphoniness of the phone.

That being said, if the screen on the DNA is really that awesome, I could see myself using it more, or taking longer/more dumps. However, being an artist and graphic designer, the Galaxy Note 2 sounds fucking awesome. Samsung + S-Pen + Wacom would seem to equal awesome, but I can't find anything about anyone using it *for* that purpose. Plus, it's cheaper than a small wacom pad and doesn't need to plug into my laptop requiring expensive ass software; not keen on pirating software I use anymore. The Note sounds like a cool digital sketchpad, but is it *really* good at that?

tldr: Does anyone have either the Droid DNA or the Samsung Note 2? Are they awesome? Why?
