Just FYI the 6P issue may not be the same and factory resets did not fix it.

I hope it works for you though.
I researched rechargable batteries, and they said 5% of batteries didn't last a month, some lasted 1 year. Sounds pretty technical but said that the rate of charge will determine the longevity of the battery. Slower the the charge the more you can pack into the given space, ie - Density. And the drop is do to charging cycles that cause a bridge between the internal + & - electrode or post or whatever it said. New technology in batteries have minimized these problems and are more stable. 2170 battery cell that Tesla is using is suppose to be the top of the line in rechargable density and longevity. Will see.

almost March, still no Nougat update for my S7 and the battery has gone to shit. almost 100% going back to iPhone next unless Samsung pulls off some sort of magic with the S8.

my LG4 (less than a year ownership) is rebooting constantly in the early logo stage of booting up.

What the hell do I do.
Happened to me. It's a common issue. If not under warranty I think you are boned but try to talk your carrier into a replacement anyway. Worked for me but I was only one month past the warranty expiration.

Maybe something changed since it happened to me but I was give a replacement. Pretty sure it was assumed to be a hardware issue.

Seriously considering the same thing. I'm the only family member without an iPhone, and they always yell at me for not having FaceTime or iMessage.

group messaging is way less fucked on iPhone also.
Agreed. 2 years ago I switched to iPhone and loved it. Then last year I switched off to the Note 7. Loved it then as well. I'm just not sold on the S7 and despite the S8 looking great, so does the iPhone 8.

I've always wanted Samsung hardware with IOS. The iPhone 8 will finally make that happen. Oh and you know a dark mode is coming too.

So still seriously considering switching back to iPhone, but one thing I'd seriously miss is being able to text from my computer via MightyText. Shit's bad ass. If you don't know what it is , it syncs your texts from your phone to a secure web browser, and can text via the website. Get notifications, send pictures, etc. Basically like working your messaging app from your computer.

Nothing at all equivalent on the iPhone. :(

are you sure there's nothing equivalent on iPhone? that sounds pretty straightforward.

Last time I researched it, there wasn't. There was a few weird options, but only for jailbroken iPhone's. Apple locks all that stuff down so it's not possible.

They only have that feature with iPhones and Mac laptop/desktops. Nothing for windows far as I know.
Oh that's right. And you can text from an iPad, but your iPhone has to be on the same network or something I believe. I'd probably be ok with this if they made an iMessage app for Windows.

So... These companies are targeting an operating system to outcast the other to choose sides? This kinda seems like a technology engineered monopoly.

I'm having the same battery issue with my 1st gen Moto E. Not always but more often and getting worse.
What is the issue and can it be fixed with a total phone factory reset?
I use an ancient phone also (Note 1) and I get a new battery pretty much every two years. Batteries just turn to shit overtime: won't hold as much of a charge and the phone shuts down even tho it shows 15-30% still in the tank. When that behavior shows up I just buy a new battery and that always fixed the problem.

Moto E has a changeable battery but it's a b*tch with 14 torque screws and a small connection to be installed just right without bending the posts.

Wasn't it you bitching about your S7 battery woes in this thread earlier while everyone else said theirs was fine.. only for you to later find out some rogue app was draining your battery? I only ask because I bought my S7 the first week they were available and my battery life is damn near as good as the day I bought it. I just got Nougat a few weeks ago. It's even better now, as there are active background power management tweaks that come with it.

Yeah I was having an issue with some VZW bullshit app running in the background. I disabled it and the battery got a bit better, but overall the battery quality has degraded dramatically. I do put a shit ton of use into it, but it's definitely fallen off faster than I would have expected. That's another reason I'm so pissy it's taken over 6 months now to get the fucking Nougat rollout.
