My understanding of the state of the game is that the PC version is completely fucked, it had all kinds of performance issues on high end hardware and has bugs about losing progress and shit. Do not buy on PC.
console versions are ok, quality mode is visually much better than performance. If you do use performance mode, you won't get a steady 60 fps but it drops to 40 fps sometimes. You will get screen tearing in performance unless you have a VRR TV (LG OLEDs etc) and turn on VRR, but you need to enable VRR for unsupported games in the PS5 user interface for it to work properly. Quality mode is stuck at 30 fps but has ray tracing on consoles and is supposed to be really good, but you are stuck at 30 fps.
The day 1 patch hasn't hit PS5 yet either, dunno if its certification issues or what but it is on xbox and fixes the HDR issues, there are ways to fix HDR on PS5 though i guess?
"Some have fixed by going into console HDR settings and ensuring the 3rd screen for black levels is not set at minimum. Even just upping it 1 has fixed it entirely."
i'm gonna pick up and play anyways
