You must not be an 80s kid then

I remember my mom took me to see The Goonies in the movie theater, and when I got home I started going around the house with a chair and was pulling her paintings and photos and stuff off the walls to see if there was a treasure map behind them. Must have been maybe five or six years old or something.

No BS. It was probably one of the greatest movie experiences I've ever had in my life. I guess it was because I was about that age, but I'm seeing kids on some crazy adventure, well you felt like a goonie.

Didn't you grow up with the Little Rascals? They were on every day after school. One episode they were pirates and it was similar to the Goonies. It was probably based off that sketch. Donner was big on old fashioned stuff.

Hell yeah! I used to watch The Little rascals and the Three stooges all the time on whatever goofy channel they were on. The lady that used to have an in-house basically daycare for parents dropping their kids off so they could go to school, my mom would drop us off there at like 6:00 in the morning, and Mrs.Barbra would turn on the TV for my sister and myself while we were waiting for the bus. It was either a cartoons, but I know I've seen every single episode of Gilligan's Island. She turned it on one day and I loved the hell out of it.

It was the first time I had ever seen the show. I was maybe in the first grade or something. She had some pretty hot 80s haircut daughters. Three of them if I'm not mistaken. Husband was salt of the earth or can I believe in done petrochemical industry.

I sometimes wonder what happened to them because I remember their house so very vividly, that's weird because I remember kids that were there, and I guess all the lunches and stuff she used to make. My sister apparently loved her red beans and rice, can of kidney beans some white rice and some sort of sausage maybe kielbasa. To this day and though she's still squares up and down it's her favorite red beans and rice ever.

I don't know why.

My favorite rascals was when they had some kind of car or boat or a runaway train. Shit goes sideways and it's total mayhem. I also liked the really racist ones because these were supposed to be integrated for its time. Black and white kids playing together and here is spanky telling stymie that his brother is a monkey and that all he needed was a tail. I have exactly two black friends and I watched that scene with one of them and his face just dropped. Was pretty goddamn funny. Good old days when racism was fun.

I don't really remember why around what channel the Little rascals or The Three stooges used to play on when I was a kid. For some reason though I would find them being broadcasted, then I would sit there and just watch it.

I don't know why I enjoyed it as a kid but maybe it's because I could tell inherently that it was awesome. Probably just something in my bones... Or maybe TV used to be entertaining and fun to watch.

Like in living color, the first eight seasons of The Simpsons, and Mr show with Bob and David.

Yeah, it was just fun slapstick humor. Pratfalls, women getting a cream pie to the face. Not the good kind. Just comedy that anyone of any age or color or ethnicity or class could enjoy together. It's like that scene from Sullivan's Travels, if you know you know.

Might just be me, but I kinda liked that trailer. It's kinda like a mix between Goonies and Explorers. It does seem more kid than adult oriented.

Sorry was catching up, yeah it might be fun and maybe it's a direction that they need to take with the whole franchise to actually make it fun again, steer away from Jedi's and whatever, but it's just the same rehashed Hollywood BS.

I don't think there's anything original about it, it's probably something I will never end up watching just like a lot of their other creations at this point.

I just want to know if the little elephant can play any musical instruments.

Wait I didn't even see that in the trailer. I just started watching it and my brain sort of flew out of my head because it just looks so retarded.

Honestly think they're trying to do a stranger things type reboot with one of those Star Wars series. They probably know that was a big ticket of success for Netflix, and now they're just going to apply the same formula to the Star Wars BS.

I'm sure if I was a kid I would probably love watching it, but now I don't really care.

I dunno about that, where is the little girl who is "the key to everything"? If this show was a Max Rebo origin or his son is trying to find his way back home and lays down a bunch of funky riffs along the way. I would totally be down for this.

That's right Max Rebo is the blue elephant piano player alien!

I think we need a story about him growing up and learning to play Space music and I cantina on tatooine. You could write it as a struggle of adversity for somebody being both blue and fat, and nobody wants to give him a chance but he somehow places heart out on his space organ, and then he gets a crappy gig at that bar and then he gets to see Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.

See Disney got to be paying me a bunch of money to make some films or TV shows. If I get hired I'll definitely bring you a board, probably a bunch of the other guys. We could probably make the greatest Star Wars show ever made.

Yeah I sure love watching TV that's rife with kids knowing precisely what happens to the vast majority of children sold into that life by their greedy parents.

Good times.
