If that small little nitpick is that big of an issue then you can just simply explain it to the person watching.
They went into the Qui Gon stuff in the final season of Clone Wars.A friend recommended this to me the other day. Might give it a shot even though going from the best (5) to worst (2) might make the terribleness of 2 stand out all that much more.
One thing that kills me about Palpatine in Episode 1 is that everyone knew who he was, but when Lucas would talk about it, he'd always say "well... I can just say that things aren't what they seem. that's kind of the overarching theme of the prequel trilogy"... turns out things were what they seemed. He also mentioned that he would explain more about Force Ghosts and that Qui Gon would return as one... which I don't think he ever did. It just ended up seeming like Lucas had no idea where he was going with the prequels. I suppose that could be said about the original trilogy too, but at least I was too young at the time to hear anything he may or may not have said between episodes back then
It's more your vitriol in face of universal opposition.Yes, the fact that I like something you do not makes me a contrarian. Brilliant observation.
Lol oops. I meant Obi and Liam.Yeah 8 year old Anakin really kicked Darth Maul's ass.
Whaa? Imho the worst was the stupid "I've got the high ground" showdown between Obi and Anakin, followed by the Boba Fett fight with Obi at that clone base..Yeah that was by far the absolute worst fight scene out of all 6 movies.
Thank fuck they didn't go that route. Lucas would've had Anakin accidentally igniting a light sabre and chopping Darth Maul's head off "Oops!"Yeah 8 year old Anakin really kicked Darth Maul's ass.
You must have stepped out when obiwan fought grievous and started spinning the lightsabers like buzzsaws.Yeah that was by far the absolute worst fight scene out of all 6 movies.
Did anyone know who palpatine was other than people who were into the EU? I purposely wasn't mentioning it to anyone back at the time. If you did know without reading the EU, then how? I don't remember them ever using the name palpatine in the original trilogy. One thing that kills me about Palpatine in Episode 1 is that everyone knew who he was, but when Lucas would talk about it, he'd always say "well... The Emperor had to be somebody and he was the only creepy old white dude in the movies. Also, it was obvious it was the same actor doing the hooded scenes. You must have stepped out when obiwan fought grievous and started spinning the lightsabers like buzzsaws.

If you watched episode 1 it was painfully obvious who Palpatine was because the actor was the same. Thats why cutting out all those scenes actually makes it more enjoyable. You must have stepped out when obiwan fought grievous and started spinning the lightsabers like buzzsaws.

No, I didn't like it. It's like a 20-30 minute scene, completely takes you out of the action, to watch some kid race CGI muppets for what? So Qui Gon can win a slave off of the absurd middle eastern charicature? Of course, in this case the "action" is a trade dispute between some ridiculous Asian/Jewish hybrid aliens so I can see how people could use the break.I'm confused , people actually hated the pod racing? I thought that was one of the more likable parts of prequels and something I can see people doing on a planet like Tatooine. And by podracing I mean the actual pod races, not the kid actor's performance.
I knew that Palpatine was the emperor...didn't they call him emperor palpatine? in the orig? I didn't read any EU books, and only played a few games here and there...so I picked it up somewhere /shrug - in my mind I always had that info from the OG 3.If you watched episode 1 it was painfully obvious who Palpatine was because the actor was the same. Thats why cutting out all those scenes actually makes it more enjoyable.
