Well... if we assume that Ep.3 is canon, as bad as it was, wasn't Bail Organa with Yoda and Obi-Wan when they decided to split the children. Obi-Wan said something along the lines I'll take the boy to his family on Tatooine and keep an eye on him.So I thought of something today: how did Leia know Obi-Wan was on Tatooine? Like the entire might of the empire couldn't find a dude who had no communication with the outside world but she just happened to know he was there?
Uh I have watched it. She's not in the first tier of actors in that either but she her performance was hardly stilted. It's a bit forced and unconvincing at times.I think if you watch ANH you'll see that a lot of her acting is that stilted, broadway type of line delivery
She really didn't, she was pretty much stoic in ANH, Han's foil in ESB, and in Jedi she at least got super pissed a couple of times. In RoTJ, that look she gets when talking to Luke at the end, she had that same look in TFA a time or two.She at least showed a little range in the OT. Even just in ANH itself. Granted she didn't have enough screen time in this to need to show much. But that's chicken or the egg. Of the main characters she was pretty clearly the worst imo.
This is actually incorrect. I was going to bring up this fact earlier but just hadn't gotten around to it yet. When I went to my second viewing of the movie this weekend, I was specifically looking to see other ships on both sides. There was a scene, (I think its the first scene) when they pan to a space view of the Star Killer Base, you can see that the planet itself is very pale. In this scene if you look closely, in the distance there is at least a half dozen other Star Destroyers in orbit over the base just like the large one we see prominently throughout the movie. They are somewhat distant but they are clearly star destroyers. We only ever see a single large ship on the FO side (which was apparently significant enough to house Ren's grandad collection) yet we see multiple large ships taken out with Hosnian Prime.
Stoic? Did we watch the same movie? She really didn't, she was pretty much stoic in ANH
I missed that. Maybe I need to go watch it againThis is actually incorrect. I was going to bring up this fact earlier but just hadn't gotten around to it yet. What were they supposed to do against a small group of fighters down on the planet?Yet none of them came to the defense of the planet. GG
I think the answer is obvious: ALOHA SNACKBAR!!!What were they supposed to do against a small group of fighters down on the planet?
Well. Star destroyers can operate in atmospheres, and as we saw in the first few minutes they can shoot down tie fighters so I don't see why they couldn't shoot the xwings down. What were they supposed to do against a small group of fighters down on the planet?
Yeah. I guess as long as we're tossing out all possibilities, they could have also sent an emergency alert to star fleet command and asked for the U.S.S Enterprise to come in for the rescue as well.Sure. But if they had twice as much firepower at that fight it might not even have gotten to that point. I mean the resistance sent what, 14 X-wings?
That would be a violation of the Prime Directive.Yeah. I guess as long as we're tossing out all possibilities, they could have also sent an emergency alert to star fleet command and asked for the U.S.S Enterprise to come in for the rescue as well.
First off, it's clear Snoke doesn't really care about it. Probably all 'dark side blah blah' just like the Vader speech where he force chokes the guy in the conference room.Supreme Leader Snoke is much more concerned with getting Kylo Ren and Hux off the base than he is with defending the thing.
I think ultimately that Starkiller Base was not the major resource hog that the Death Stars had been. Sure there is a massive machine that is carved out of the planet, but that could easily just be something that was built by droids. You only ever see a relatively small number of humans on the base, at best we are talking thousands and not hundreds of thousands. Starkiller Base was meant to blow up the Republic and it did that. Sure it would have been nice to take out the Resistance base as well, but really that was a secondary target. Would it have been nice to have it as a resource to use when aiming to supplant the Republic and bring order to the galaxy? Its hard to blow up civilian planets and still convince yourself that you are the good guys.
Kirk would be too busy banging twileks.Yeah. I guess as long as we're tossing out all possibilities, they could have also sent an emergency alert to star fleet command and asked for the U.S.S Enterprise to come in for the rescue as well.
