Probably millions of worlds in that little chunk of "unknown region" and given theoretical terraforming, would mean that a non-trivial amount of them contained life to varying degrees.

I've always sort of looked at the Star Wars universe semi-similar (not in tone, obviously) to the WH40k universe. There's a shitload of technology and stuff flying around doing things, but there's also a lot of stuff that has simply been forgotten about due to the absurd distances needed to travel to get places (even if it only takes hours vs. decades) and the vast amount of time everything has sort of existed; there's still just a lot of... stuff, in the galaxy. To go along with it, the Jedi Archives got ransacked by the Imps, so there's a reasonable chance that certain specific locations were just unknowable to an extent by the Rebels at that point in time.

But yeah, simply having "unmapped" regions or regions with little to no mapping in a galaxy that contains interstellar flight for literally thousands of years seems a bit farfetched. I could see them having maps but going "no idea wtf is on this planet" since it may not have been visited or relevant in thousands of years. Which I suppose makes their search for a specific route a little more reasonable, but that puzzle piece missing from the map is just kind of =|.

That documentary on the Blue ray was really good. Believe it was over an hour. Liked that way more then the deleted scenes.

So I never went to see this, mostly to feeling ill December/Jan and finally bought it tonight when Vudu offered me a 9.99 deal.
Let me say I am greatly disappointed. As someone who saw the originals as a kid on release and growing up loving Star Wars and even tolerating the 1,2 and 3 fiasco I found myself less interested in this movie than any of the other 6.
To me the acting and effects seemed even more fake and unreal than 1 2 an 3. I would leave the room for various things as it was playing and didn't even pause it. The story had no interest to me at all. I just didn't care what happened to any of them, including Hon.

I would say only 2 was worse and it is probably tied with the"first" movie.
I just wasn't drawn in at all and the BJarBjar8 thing had me annoyed from the start.
It felt exactly like a JJ Abrams movie, which is to say his remakes of Star Trek. Watchable, nothing new or spectacular. I was impressed I wasn't constantly blinded by lens flare though so there is that.

Thought I would chip in on my 2 cents worth of opinion, now that the hype has died down and I've seen it a few times.

I still prefer the originals, but hey, I grew up with them. They're like family. TFA is still better, far better, than the prequels. It is, however, different. This is far more of an action movie than the other films. If you think about it, they all had a much slower pace, even Jedi, and (for the lack of a better word) were more "thoughtful*". TFA had far more action scenes. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, however. It's obvious they were also testing the waters a bit, seeing what would fly and what not with the fan base, so I expect e8 to be better still. Sure, there were lots of plot holes, but nothing that ruined it for me. To make a long story short, as a die hard SW fan, I quite liked it, warts and all, and am looking forward to e8.

Anyone else share my opinion?

*I know "thoughtful" is not the best word here, but I'm not sure what else to put. I mean, that in the originals, and even the prequels, there was far more low pace dialogue scenes. Less hectic. Maybe someone can find a better word?

Haha I can't stop laughing at this. Misspelled Han as Hon, replies with joking misspelling of Yoda as Yoga, then Caliane follows up with an accidental mis-type of "Liea."

My co-workers are looking at me funny. Thanks, assholes.

i automatically disqualify the opinion of anyone who says this movie was as bad as the prequels, that pretty much puts you into brain damage territory
