I think this might be the first big movie I intentionally watch a cam copy of since the original Avengers, and the only reason I did that was because I deployed a week before it came out. Was actually a pretty solid copy other than the occasional sound of someone munching on popcorn.

Cable is funny. They show TFA all the time, but starz hasn't ever shown TLJ. On the other hand they only show woke Ghostbusters and never the original.

Yes, and it will end with Rey stating

"Let me not talk of how Luke Skywalker died. Let me instead talk of how he lived."

You know, god damn TLJ fucking made me so mad. Love it or hate it, The Force Awakens tried to be serious enough, and the ending with Rey finding Luke was pretty fucking good and well shot and done. Then we see Luke in TLJ and he fucking throws the light saber, the blue milk, etc. God damn it was so horrible.

AMC has Ghostbusters 1 and 2 on all the time (I think it's AMC?)

A great point brought up was re: villains, specifically the Death Star as the big bad.

You have to have implied specifications and parameters on these weapons and villains for people to care-- force powers, weapons, people. The lack of any implied parameter or specification in the new trilogy compared to the Original Trilogy is a stark difference.

There is a lack of care in the sequel trilogy that wasn't there in the OT. It has a lot to do with JJ Abrams and how he presents conflict.

It's being rumored that during the showdown between Palp & Rey/Kylo that Jar Jar Binks, YES, JAR JAR will be standing above the three, making a rather familiar remark: "Do you think we have forgotten? Do you think we have forgiven?" as a vat of Gungan Man Juice is dumped over and pours all over the cast below.

I really want to know how they get space horses onto a star destroyer. Fucking landspeeders would be more understandable.

I know you're just highlighting the absurdity of the scene with your comment, but my guess is that based on the trailer, we've seen the Star Destroyers are emerging from under the ice, so I think they were charging on their space horses and suddenly the ice cracks and a Star Destroyer emerges from under them and they just say fuck it and keep riding. That's my take on it, doesn't mean it's not cringy however.

Is that supposed to be the rational explanation? Charging on space horses to what if the star destroyer is under ice? How are they able to charge on ice at all? How are they able to stay on space horses and ice after the star destroyer breaks through it and out into outer fucking space?

Why are you asking for rationality and sensible physics in a JJ Abrams movie? Hand-waving the rules whenever there is a chance for visual spectacle is what Abrams does.

This crap sounds like it was literally written by JJ’s son in junior high creative writing class.

The part you don't see is where the ship tilts about 30 degrees as it climbs and everything falls off.
