That's exactly what he did lol.

That was kind of out of character for him when that happened , even though he is a jerk in the comics. He was in love with and faithful to the Justice Leaguer Ice.

Yeah, I'm kinda bummed they didn't go for what is shown there, i.e. his "classic vest and BDSM belt" look.
And yeah, he was rather in love with Ice of the Ice and Fire combo from that era of the Justice League.
And Gunn using that era JL as inspiration (which makes sense with him in my age bracket) gives me hope of a Booster/Beetle (Ted Kord) movie at some point.
