Agreed. This cast seems pretty awesome so far.

That gay guy is quite the athlete. I found myself rooting for him, till he went full retard with his vote. Why would you give your tribe any reason not to trust you? He clearly did not want to get blood on his hands, so he let everyone else do the dirty work. EXCEPT Nadiya has no bearing on your game. You will not see her sitting on the jury and the other girls know you are not with them. It was a 5 guys vs 4 girls vote, and he tipped that he is not fully with the 5 guys majority alliance. Dumb.

Anyway, I don't watch Amazing Race, but i flipped through and heard former-survivors and I'm like, who are they?

I knew who they were right away. They gave Cochran tons of shit all season and then (she) screamed at him when he flipped to Coach's side. He's the idiot wannabe surfer with a pacemaker and she's the "country singer" who was married (and didn't tell anyone) when she went on Survivor and hooked up with him. Anyway they're both fucking stupid and they won't last long on the Race. Maybe another few episodes at best.

The Amazing Race is good, you should give it a shot. The best Survivor season beats the best Amazing Race season, but a bad/mediocre Race beats a bad/mediocre Survivor.

Well i take that back, I watched the season where the bitch got the watermelon in face, but it got boring mid-way through. And i watched the ones with the midget they were funny.

And him having a pacemaker makes sense now, he was like tired and emo and she was edging him on. (then channel flip)

Are you watching this season then, is the first eps good?

My problem with Amazing Race is that the show is so formulaic. If you have seen one episode, you have seen every episode. They focus way too much on the process and the tasks for my liking.

At least with Survivor, you have time for the personalities to develop with camp life, multiple aspects of the game to feature (social, physical, mental), and the ultimate equalizer in tribal council.

I don't dislike Amazing Race, but it does bum me out that they win all the Emmy's and get the accolades when Survivor is the superior show.

No drama in Amazing Race, at most someone gets U-turned mid-way. And that's really it.

Plus they always have the same formulatic teams.

1 pair of blond bimbos
1 pair of fireman/cop
1 caustic married couple
1 engaged couple
1 dating couple
1 sibling
1 really old parent/really young kid
1 pair of gays
1 ethic ppl

And if they need too, they'll have the ethnic ppl do double duty and be gay, to meet the minority threshold.

I actually caught a bit of last years TAR also cause the new place in jersey I moved to, was the hometown of one of couples. (the nasty ones) They'd be replayed in the restaurants.

Yeah, this season so far is good. I like the cast and the initial challenges were good. The first episode of the Race is usually the worst (so many people to introduce, too many teams to follow, etc), but this one wasn't bad at all.

While the Race is formulaic like Fight says it all hinges on the locations and the challenges which is a nice change of pace from Survivor. I'm a big on international travel so it appeals to me on that level, and even though I try to get on Survivor every season I would much rather be on the Race.

Btw: the last season of the Race was by far one of the worst. Don't base you opinion of the show on that piece of shit.

Yeah I stopped watching amazing race years ago for the exact reason. It's just boring to me and I have no idea how it wins the Emmy every year.

It wins emmy's because it's a crazy thing to produce. 13 episodes, usually 10 different locations around the world all covered over the course of about 3 weeks. The preparation that goes into it and THEN the execution of it is far crazier than what any other reality show has to deal with so it wins out. Phil is also an awesome host so he usually brings home an Emmy, too.

All good points and true. I just don't think the guy that scales Mt. Everest yearly should win the ESPY for sportsman of the year over Peyton, Lebron, Trout, Messi, etc.

Sure, but that analogy doesn't fit. In this case they're playing the same sport (the production of reality competition television), and they're being judged on the same metrics.
