I just finished powering through this season. I had quit watching after 4 episodes, because it was so horrible, but decided I should finish it after some comments here about it being better in the 2nd half.
It was easily the worst season since Thailand (the only season I've still never fully watched), for me. There were only 2 semi-likeable players and surprisingly, both of them were gay. Everybody else had absolutely 0 idea what they were doing. For constantly espousing what a "student of the game" Jeremy supposedly is, he was nearly as bad as the rest of them. He was paranoid, prone to complete impulsiveness/irrationality, and sucked ass in individual challenges.
I was really hoping Dale's "fake idol" plan worked on John. It would've gone down as one of the best survivor "lulz" moments since Ice Cream Scooper Eric. Other than that potential moment, the only other memorable scene was Reed eviscerating Missy at tribal.
I think Worlds Apart has the potential for some epic fights/drama, but I'm extremely bummed that it isn't an all-star season of some sort. I'd like to see an all-star season comprised solely of powerful "runner-ups" (Twila, Cassandra, Danielle, etc.). Then again, I guess most of them have already been back/won as returning players, so derp...
Yeah, Kirun pretty much sums up my feelings on this past season, and I would like to see an all-star season soon, too.

Well, I was trying to think of "powerhouse" runner-ups and was coming up empty, because almost all of the good ones have already been back on the show. I figured I'd throw in a curveball of terribleness.

I think if you wanted a good season, you'd have to extend it to the final four. So often, the better players are voted out right at the end (Malcolm, Yau-Man, Cirie, Spencer, Rob Cesternino, etc.) so goats can be taken to the final tribal council. Doing a season of purely runner-ups would likely be incredibly boring. I mean, it'd be a season that would include such powerhouses as Woo, Lisa Whelchel, Susie, Lillian, and Dreamz.

I tried watching this a long time ago, but was put off by Americans on television visiting other countries and acting like complete dickbags to foreign locals.
As if we Americans don't have enough stigma as horrible tourists, I don't want to sit and watch it on my TV for "entertainment".

Some of the occupations for the tribe strike me as odd. Law student is "no collar"? Hairdresser is "blue collar"?
But yeah, I'm with Soygen. I'd much rather have women on this show that are worth watching because they actually play the game and not just because they're eye candy. Them not casting a bunch of models makes me hopeful that they cast based on how people will play rather than what they'll look like on television.

rarely does hot chick = good survivor tv, i mean sure it'll equal drama but not good survivor tv, off the top of my head, parvati and amanda. out of the hundreds of good looking girls. i guess you can count Kim S, one world was boring and full of retards, but i guess she deserves credit for wrangling up the retards at least.
I don't know if it's just b/c it's recent but looking back women play hasn't been that memorable, and Natalie made some baller moves most of us though were stupid rookie mistakes or pandering for camera attention but painted a complete story to victory in the end.
what were the differences between Kim S. and natalie seasons? while Kim S. had certifiable retards, and all she had to do was wave her hand and they listened, Natalie had human trash that were just dispicable people. It's a lot easier to stomach wrangling up stupid than wrangling up shit.
