Survivor

Thank God Survivor and Better Call Saul are coming back. I've gotten through Jan/Feb with no shows except Gold Rush and Mythbusters. When you're exclusively watching the Discovery Channel it's bad times in TV land. I've even resorted to watching shows like Diesel Bros and Treehouse Masters it's been so dry lately.

I heard that rather than focusing on the brains/beauty/brawn aspect the just cast people that they thought would be good on the show and then shoe-horned them into the categories and in some cases (Alecia on brawn, Tai on beauty, sort of everyone on beauty, etc) it doesn't really make sense but whatever.

I think the brawn tribe probably made the wrong choice voting Darnell off instead of Alecia for challenge purposes BUT if they were going to vote Darnell off, it shouldn't have been for losing the goggles, it should have been for pooping in front of everyone. WTF Darnell? Black people must be a little sad that they had a black guy that was a former life guard to break the "black guys can't swim" stereotype and he fucked up the first water challenge.

I am with you on Liz, she is super hot, maybe hotter than anyone on the beauty tribe, and seemed pretty not-crazy at least in the first episode. Debbie on the other hand, I could not wait to get off my tribe. She is legit nuts and I would just not want to be around that. Also the fact that she listed off all of those crazy jobs and then tacked on server at Red Lobster at the end just goes to show that she must be lying about those other jobs or just terrible at them. Either way, get her off my TV. Aubry reminds me of this super nerdy woman I know in real life a disturbing amount. She could be her sister both in appearance and the way she acts which is not really a complement and she also seems to be a head case or at least a weakling but she did get all 4 paddles for the brains tribe in the challenge before anyone else which was pretty impressive.

The beauty tribe didn't make much of an impression aside from Tai but I don't really get why people get so butthurt when someone is looking for an idol. Isn't everyone looking for it? Also, Nick looks a little bit like Gaston.

I listened to a RHaP this week and Stephen Fishbach pointed out that Debbie is the female coach. Constantly telling people how great she is at everything while exhibiting zero evidence that she is good at anything whatsoever. He also said that he got Liz on the show because they met on OK Cupid and dated a bit which didn't work out but he thought she would be good on Survivor so he got her in touch with the casting director. I wonder how much stuff like that goes on.
