The first crush I ever had on a girl (that I recall) was in 3rd grade, on a classmate. In 4th grade I had a crush on my babysitter. Sex had nothing to do with anything, didn't even know what sex was. So yes, signs of you being gay (even though you have no idea what that is) can and does appear at young ages.

Yeah, same sorts of experience with sexuality at young ages. Boys start getting erections really young even before they have any concept with what to do with it. No idea why Picasso thinks you only get erections after puberty.

Last week my nephew, who is 7, brought up the fact that when it gets hard, he hits it so it goes away. I chuckled.

Male babies will get erections for whatever the reason. The masturbation thing is probably a matter of degree. Touching, grinding on a surface if female, is, supposedly, not all that uncommon. It could just be exploration of a novel, particularly sensitive, area. Or, so I chose to believe as the thought of baby masturbation is revolting.
