The gay-slang usage of "twink" has been suggested as a likely origin.[1] One of the connotations of this usage is "a young/inexperienced person who can outfit himself fashionably because of financial benefits from an older/experienced sugar daddy." This parallels MMORPGs, where in-game money is a strong limiting factor in the virtual economy and gear is usually in the form of clothing and jewelry.

I always assumed the gay twink came from the MMO word. But that's just because I heard about it in MMOs way before I heard it applied to a gay.

Pretty sure I heard about it as a gay term long before MMO's came about. It was some sort of joke about them calling young guys twinkies because they were soft and full of cream.

Expiration dates are mostly horseshit unless you're talking about milk. That mouthwash is fine.

Yea, I'm using it until I find some reason scary enough not to. I'm not swallowing it, and it has the same burning sensation as every other mouthwash I've owned.

Cake mixes are one thing you don't want to use after the expiration date since they are prone to mold. This includes stuff like Bisquick.

I thought it was because they just don't believe HIV is what 'they' say it is. I got this impression when I first read about bug chasing 20 years ago. The stories about it were accompanied by tales from the gay community of people who were living HIV+ for years only to have the symptoms show up after they started the treatments. Most of the bug chasers and givers of the gift had no plans to sign up for any of the drug trials.

I understand the drug cocktails they were testing back then were pretty harsh, and the shit today is probably much better. But has the idea that aids is a hoax been eradicated in the bugchaser community?

There are still people out there who believe that HIV and AIDS is a hoax, or was government funded. Those people don't live very long.
