Hmmmm I've seen side by sides of PS3 vs 360 where PS3 version looks at least noticably better. Tomb Raider and Crysis 3 come to mind.

This whole "No one will optimize" shit is complete nonsense. Look at console games from the launch of this latest generation and look at them now. There's a fucking massive gulf in quality. Night and day differences. People optimize the fuck out of their games and push both the X360 and PS3 hardware to their limits even on the Third Party side for big games. People are going to do the same with the Xbone and PS4 and it'll be far easier to do it than it is now.

Considering the similarities in hardware it's quite possible they won't have to do anything besides toggle some options. (Or that PS4 will be identical fidelity but with a greater frame rate)
Or you could just read what I've been linking and paraphrasing rather than continuing to attempt to dispute it with me.
With how similar the hardware is between the two - same x86 styled chipset for starters - it's quite possible running on PS4 vs. XBOne will involve zero conversion and it will be like running AC3 on a hardcore gaming PC versus a Dell you buy in Best Buy with nothing else added or whatever other comparison. Before this gen the resources needed for porting were pretty substantial - everything said for this gen implies otherwise except for eSRAM optimizations for XB1 and a few extra DX instructions for PS4.
I will be very surprised if multiplats end up looking massively different. Even if the PS4 is 50% faster across the board, that's not going to translate into 30fps vs 60fps or anything crazy like that. When you start comparing these things to high end video cards that are like 300-400% faster it just seems to be a little silly.
Ultimately its going to be about the price and experiences. Or better yet, who can showcase those experiences via their marketing departments. Sony is doing everything right up til now. Im more curious to see how they both look once the marketing budgets kick in.
Im excited for both for different reasons. I cant pick sides, i just like new toys way too much. Current gen consoles have been in my entertainment center for WAAAAAY too long now.

I'd expect it would be more in the vicinity of 30 vs. 40 fps or 1080p vs upscaled lower res, etc. stuff that's relatively minor to most people but makes a difference some people can pick up. Or antialiasing 2x vs. 8x. Or different AA variants - you know all sorts of stuff probably 80% of consumers would miss.

I take good care of my gear... My fatboy launch day PS3 is still kicking. It's served me well but it is extremely loud (always has been) and pumps out an enormous amount of heat (again, always has). It is massive, and cheap looking. I may buy a Next gen console just to update my entertainment system cuz it has been a loooooong time.
One question... Will a ps4/XBone work the way I am using my boxee box, where I can stream media from my PC over my wifi network? If it doesn't I'm just gonna buy a straight up dedicated computer for my TV

That is my bad. I read that as 30-40 fps difference. My mistake.
Every article you have linked has refuted you don't come to me about speaking English.
You quoted an article claiming AC4 looks better on PS that was written by a PRODUCER that never said is but "thinks" it "could" be better.
You then quoted an article that said even though the PS4 on paper is 50% better in reality it isn't and the difference is negligible at best.
Those are both facts and they were written in English.

Game publishers are the laziest people on the planet. If it takes an extra day to make a cross platform game look better on only one of the two consoles they sure as hell aren't going to do it. If it happens natively that is one thing.

I've said 50% better in SYNTHETIC benches since my first comments on it... I know reality these days is a large sounding bump like that often is negligible in application - for the wife and my PCs - I've got amazing eyes and I can't tell a difference between her 7870 and my 7990 unless I hook them to my 60" TV.
(And they're a 200% difference in power - but that power is largely wasted on me ssince I hate doing multiscreen or past 1080p which my monitors don't support)
I never stated that I expect a 50% improvement in appearance or frame rate - if you don't understand what 50% in synthetics means in reality and my repeated attempts to explain many people won't pickup on the ddifferences, yyou're beyond help.

I take being understood seriously the topic itself is of little importance to me. if Gauge hadn't have made ludicrous assertions after Sean's recent comment I wouldn't have even bothered caring.
My fervor is only because of personal feeling of insult not that he wasn't putting the system on a pedastal. I only feel PS4 is a slightly stronger system that could easily falter if XBOne has better first party titles - part of why I'm hedging bets andgetting both now.

Depends to who and what the specific difference is - to some people 1080p is sacrosanct others can't tell the difference from 480p. Or me with AA. Or some folks with frame rates.
And even then occasional titles - 1% or 99% or somewhere in between will clearly add some extra bells and whistles in some titles. I'm sure not every title will, nor that every title won't - but even in this close generation 20% or so AAA titles had differences to professional nitpickers.
I don't think I'd ever be disappointed with the drop in quality with XBOne - I never was with PS3 this era after my 360 croaked too many times - but when I had 360 and PS3 both I always leaned 360 because if a title was going to be better on one it was going to be better on 360. Same holds true for my feelings on PS4 - probably won't usually matter to me - but leaning PS4 for multiplat titles will guarantee I rarely have the worse experience. (Note: I bet there will be occasional programming faux pas that create XBOne superior titles on occasion)

It's an argument about consoles on the internet. You're all getting way too worked up about graphic quality on inferior gaming systems. It really comes down to the games, exclusives, features etc.
I simply don't understand the fucking spin doctoring from console kids. It's the largest unpaid sales force on the planet.
