Dude I totally buy shit based on how many fps I can get and how many sweet the draw distance is. The actual game titles themselves? FUCK THOSE DON'T MATTER! 1080p and 30fp vs 1080p and 27fps?!?! CLEAR WINNER IMO!

People have pushed both the X360 and PS3 immensely this past generation. Like I said before, launch titles and recent titles have a night and day difference. People don't just go take the hardware and engines and go "oh well that's good enough". They have kept trying to push more and more with them. Early PS3 cross-platforms looked and ran worse in many cases because the system was harder to program for and they just could not get as much out of it as they could get out of the X360 early on. They did *not* force the X360 version to look worse and on par with the PS3 versions for parity.

Today's titles are very similar, but also have definite differences between different platform releases as both systems are stronger and weaker than each other in different areas. There is a lot of parity between them, but only because of their overall similarity in power. People don't just go make a PS3 version to a certain level and then go "oh, we'll only make the X360 'this' good". They play to each system's strengths and they have pushed an immense amount of power out of those two little 7 and 8 year old boxes.

Will some lazy developers go "that's good enough"? Yeah, they will, certainly. However, most developers are not that lazy. There are a ton out there who always keep pushing consoles and eeking out more and more over time as they learn the systems and optimize and tune engines and hone their craft. Give those guys some fucking credit and stop disparaging the game development community so much. This isn't just first parties either, this is big third party developers who do this with console games who make the most of it - they have to to stay competitive on a graphical level with other studios who keep pushing.

The PS4's power difference is going to matter. Maybe not much in year one, but come year 2 it's going to start to show and in year 3 it's going to be painfully obvious.

So, I was pretty sold on the ps4 based on sony's general attitude since announcement, got my day 1 reserve in with Amazon, but the past few weeks using my ps3 has really made me start to second guess it.

I mostly do PC gaming, the console reserved for watching movies (something my Apple TV is getting more use for), a few console exclusives, a blu ray here or there, and gaming with friends from time to time.

I haven't used my ps3 in months until this last week, but I find it extremely irritating to use. The PS store is slow as hell (seems worse since they updated to this newer version), the long patch and install times (using a wired connection and it feels like my ps3 is barely taking advantage of my download speeds) having to tell it to specifically look for HDMI...little annoyances like this seem to just stack up. Has there been indication that stuff like this has been fixed for the ps4?

I haven't liked pretty much anything MS has announced or done lately, but I will say using my xbox 360 just feels like less of a hassle, even if I am bombarded with ads. I love Sony's policy I guess, but their execution is leaving me disappointed.

1. Bullshit.

2. As the people in this thread who are not smoking crack have pointed out, there is not a chance in hell the PS4 is going to have a 50% increase in FPS (or any other performance measure). That isn't how this technology works.

3.Ifthere is ever a noticeable difference to the average gamer in cross-platform games, it won't be until 3-4 years after release.

4. Anyone who is obsessed with resolution/FPS/whatever would be much better off with a PC 3-4 years after release.

5. Games are 100x more important than graphics when it comes to consoles. Anyone who says otherwise is just too poor to build a good PC.

Arguing about which console is more powerful is like arguing about whether a Civic or a Prius goes 0-60 faster. It's pretty fucking far down the list of reasons why people would buy the product. WAY down the list.

I have a lot of those same problems/concerns, but have a little more faith in the PS4. Sony as a company doesn't pivot very well. They make decisions and then it's full throttle until they sputter out and/or fail spectatcularly, little in the way of changing things with few exceptions. What they have going in their advantage with the PS4 is they've made the right moves and seem to be for the most part going in the right direction and doing and saying all of the right things. How all of that will actually be executed remains to be seen.

So you could hand in fish in qenyos, get to level 20 really fast and fade away every time a new server opened
Evil Erudites can't do the fish quest - I did bat wings and snake skins at the warriors guild, hoss. But yea, always loved new servers. (Plenty of my friends did the fish though - Darshan was notorious for living off of it after they nerfed kiola nuts ages ago)

But being Erudite made me actually have to faction to do the quests too - if I was worried about efficiency I'd have been anything else from the region - everything but Erudites can do it from base faction - even human SK and Necros if memory serves. Barbarians absolutely can for sure.

Something about my personality - always like a reroll to "do things better the next time" - hell, if another Progression server opens probably be there again for it as well. Even tried to do it with WoW - but that was impossible to keep up during the timeframe I could stand the game. Actually was amongst the first to hit max level legit on each of the Progression servers without the quest as well (in fact made sure to get it nerf to prevent the three of us that knew it from using it and removing the temptation from myself - XP on the quest was pretty terrible, but since it generated a 5-10x profit on buying them from the unlimited vendors outside Freeport it snowballed quickly - he nerfed the money to almost nothing and the XP seemed pretty light as well after he responded to the suggestion)

Besides that, I'd hunt the fishermen in South Qeynos for the 15 range - spawn time was perfect for soloing - then kill Tol Nicelot in Erudin for a bit - then back to kill Lylanthian in South Qeynos at 25. After that dungeoning/etc made more sense since all the similar spots in the upper ranges were well known and publicized. [And note Lylanthian was part of the Lesser Fay guards but never got nerfed to fine steel with them - his XP was a little slow, but his cash drops made it worth doing in between RE groups and the like to fund smithing, etc]

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Madden NFL 25, FIFA 14, and Battlefield 4 will all be available a few days before the launches of the respective next-generation consoles. This way, you can buy the games early and then stare at them for a few days while you wait for the systems to become available.

The PlayStation 4 versions of the three games will be available on November 12 in North America and November 29 in Europe. The PlayStation 4 launches on November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe.

The Xbox One versions of the three games will be available on November 19 in North America and November 21 in Europe. The Xbox One launches simultaneously on November 22 in North American and Europe.

We did that with the Sega Dreamcast launch too. All the games besides first-party Sega games we could sell as soon as we got them. 3rd party companies didn't give a crap about having a street date, they just wanted you to start selling ASAP. We actually sold out of a lot of the Dreamcast games before it's launch day.

Hmm BF4 might be a tempting launch title to grab.. I'm still torn on what to get on PS4 launch, so far i've only considered Watch Dogs and maaaaybe Kill Zone
