I think the download size on GTAV is closer to 17gb. It's the mandatory install on both consoles that is in the neighborhood of 8gb.

Nothing we didn't know already... they'll be able to stream whichever titles they get new distribution agreements with, one of a number of reasons I'll be surprised if it's included w/ PSN+ or even buffet-style pricing. I expect we'll have to pay a fee for games, or batches of games.

I'm pretty sure you have to pay shipping and full state tax on the Toys r us deals.

Amazon is free shipping and the game arrives on launch day, and they dont charge full state tax.

Maybe Im wrong about that, but seems about the same.

The deal is dead now, but I got free shipping on my order (there might've been a $ amount threshold for free shipping to kick in), and both TRU and Amazon charges sales tax where I live, so it was a good deal for me.

So let me get this straight. If you had a decent income (not saying you don't) you'd still wait 2-3 months to get your hands on a next gen console? Any real gamer with the funds to do so will have a next-gen console at launch IMO. I want to play all the launch titles on the platform they were made to play on. I want to be apart of the launch of the Next-gen. When you think about it 500 bucks is nothing. I spend at least 300-400 just going out on a weekend. 500 on a console is like a smart investment to me.

FYI - For people debating waiting for PS4 versions of stuff or getting PS3 for the ~2 weeks between PS3 and PS4 launch of the titles - they've announced their "upgrade program" thing.

They have royally fucked up if you need to wait 2-3 months to get a PS4 in the US. Also, nothing good will be out for the first 2-3 months anyhow, so /care.

I really hope you didn't take 'like a smart investment' literally. Clearly Elerion did. Yes Elerion MERICA is the only country in the world.

Look Tuco your usually pretty rational. I can see if money was a bit tighter it being stupid but surely if you were doing really well with money and planned on getting both consoles you can see why it's not a bad idea.

I'm not American, but I was under the impression that you were. My bad.

Your whole argument started with saying they should have flooded the market with consoles, since otherwise people will buy the other one. If you're talking about people that will buy two consoles anyway, it doesn't matter and there's no reason to flood the market. If you're talking about people who can buy one console, they will be fucking stupid to buy whichever one is on the shelf because the other one was more popular. The most popular console is always the best one to own if you can only choose one (toy consoles like Wii excluded).

No. More like Sony is giving Microsoft the oppurtunity to win people over that weren't sure about which to purchase in the first place. A guy walks in and goes "I'll buy a PS4 because it seems like they are the most popular system at the moment" They realise they will have to wait 2-3months. They say fuck it I'm not waiting that long I'll get an Xbox they are pretty much the same. 2-3 months down the track and they have really enjoyed there time with the Xbox and think fuck it I won't even bother with the PS. Once again I think Sony should have tried to sell as many as possible day 1 not hold pre orders back.

You said it was the 'dumbest' excuse ever to buy an Xbox because I couldn't get a PS4 launch. You didn't really think of the circumstances the decision was made under.

If Sony can deliver 5 million systems for 2-3 months and remain nearly sold out the entire time then that is a massive win for them and a large incentive for any future developers. But both systems are so similar that I would hedge my bets most developers will develop for the lowest common denominator. Not all mind you, just most.

At the end of the day by the time it comes to a point where PS online community is vastly bigger then Xbox there will be plenty of PS4's to buy. Another deciding factor for me was Titanfall. I think it's going to be massive. It will be coming out just as CoD and BF 4's players are getting a bit over their respective games. If they can hook a solid base who knows where the franchise could go.
