In Australia it's 50 dollars more expensive. $50 for Kinect is not a rip off. It also doesn't matter to me it's 50 bucks. There will be no noticeable difference in the first 6months between games. What is dumb is you calling buying the Xbone an "investment". It isn't an investment at all, that is the exact opposite of what the word means. It is a luxury.
I bought the PS3 for ONE game, Dark Souls. That wasn't an investment, even if Dark Souls is the best game this generation. No, it was a complete luxury because I had plenty of money and wanted that one game. Even with GTA V being the second game I have for my PS3, it is still a luxury.

Seriously, I drop a couple grand on my gaming PC every 2-3 years. an extra $100 for one console over the other every 8 years isn't a deal breaker. That being said, I still prefer the PS4 to the XB1, but the price isn't even near the top of the list of reasons why. I'll eventually own both, which comes first just depends on which can get a handful of exclusives to market that are worth playing first(neither meets this requirement at launch).

For example the currency would be happiness. People that want Project Spark and don't have a PC. Even though I'm getting it on PC that software alone is worth the price of the console without the need to build a high end PC. No where else can you pay 500 for a game creation tool with voice and motion caption. Sure it wont be the best motion caption out there but you still can't beat the price for that option.
I partially agree with everything else you say but Project Spark is a huge reason why someone can justify purchasing the Xbox.

Pretty much this, sometimes i get a tech boner and all i see is the idea of putting a new rig together full of overpriced parts i dont need, then a couple years later i'll do it again. Compared to that il drop $900 on 2 new systems they i cant upgrade or replace until the entire next gen of systems comes out is like nothing at all.
Also if you guys have time to complain how some spend their money then you should prly use that extra time to find better jobs so that money spent by others isnt worth bitching about.
