Depends on how strapped for cash you are. $70 isn't that trivial to a lot of people (self included).

Lol. Yeah, but it was a review and a thorough one, and it happens live.
As I said "skipped" through. Also, I started on video 2, the one where they actually try it, so I might have been mean and linked a horrible video I didn't even watch. Still, I felt the series showcased enough problems to warrant linking. IE: In episode 6, where they get their replacement console and try to set it up. Three of them have to basically hide and curl up in fetal positions for the Xbox to actually recognize the person in the front as the correct owner of the console. Voice commands seem broken to the point of being next to pointless.
Anyone who have this console tried setting it up in a crowded environment?

Putting aside Microsoft's absurdly awful run up to launch, this is what really sold me on a PS4. If there is going to be a next gen Dark Souls it is almost certainly going to come to Playstation first and I'll be damned if I miss out on that. Sony has done a good job making me feel good about my decision but ultimately all of that is secondary to the games I'm interested in.
Heh, I don't have $150 to go do that. I currently have $3.58 until the 3rd.

Thank god I've got investment income as a backup - living FI myself I get panicky that low (which happens occasionally). I can't imagine how panicked I'd be without the panic switch on a 3 day delay via the broker....

Kinda sorta, but never have very much. Will have a fair amount saved from December and January though since there's 0 things to buy. May pick up a 3DS XL case and a HDD for my PS4. Also loaned someone $185, but probably won't get that back for a few weeks.

3DS and Vita are relevant, they're a major part of the generation. They may have started earlier, but they're going to be here for a long time. The 3DS has an amazing library that you really can't ignore too and the Vita is a major part of the PS4 and has quite a value with PS+.
It's also not a "next gen" thread anymore. It's now the Current generation. The PS3 is now part of the last generation, but for many people here it'll still be relevant for at least another 2 years as a lot of RPGs are still being released on it (there's a ton of them 2014 for it).
