Only if you are counting the Blu-Ray drive as the deciding factor(as opposed to having to get a separate Blu-Ray drive if you have a 360)

For streaming video, music, & apps, the 360 was superior in almost every way imaginable to the PS3 throughout the vast majority of the last console generation.
Fixed and Correct. Sean is just heading into lala land now.

The PS3 has more accurate color output and far better and more varied audio output. The X360 is limited to 5.1 Dolby while the PS3 does LPCM 7.1 and started with the slim models does HD Bitstreaming. They both do DLNA fine and the PS3 has a far, far better Netflix app.

Yeah but the xbone is a multi-media platform that allows seamless transitions from gaming to shit you don't want to do.

Really 360 is DLNA as well? Wonder why the FiOS router hated on the PS3 streaming but not 360 then... Weird ..

And midpost Target.com stocked again on PS4 in the past min or so...

And LPCM 7.1 is purely a blu-ray related technology, so obviously the 360 wouldn't have it. Also, there's about 20 total movies ever that supports 7.1(half of those being disney cartoons). It's basically a non-factor, and there's zero commercial music that is going to support it.

Hooray for technology that sounds neat, but nobody uses.

Matters for streaming movies, no? You're severely limited in audio options on the X360. And LPCM isn't purely a blu-ray related thing, it's just uncompressed audio. You're probably thinking of DTS HD MA and Dolby TrueHD.

And I'm just going to assume you never used UMS for Streaming, because it works perfectly on the PS3 and the PS3 is just flat out better video and audio accuracy, quality, and options wise.

Thought it was, been a while since I messed with it. But the PS3 streamed everything perfectly fine, including mkvs and 10 bit encodes, with this:Universal Media Server
It was something silly with their router blocking ports or something it was a simple fix once I knew how. And I'll have yo check that MKV thing out.

Btw, the color accuracy thing I'm talking about - the X360's RGB range is messed up. It crushes blacks and has inaccurate gamma, especiallyin Full Range. It's why the X360 version of games always looked like they had more "pop" in comparison videos while the PS3 versions looks slightly washed out, though the PS3 games were the ones that were actually color accurate.

Surprisingly, the Xbone also has this problem.

Xbox had Hulu Plus and youtube waaaaaay before PS3. HBOGo for PS3? Still waiting. Vevo? Still waiting. Your argument is a failure.

PS3 did have the superior netflix app. That much is truth.

I keep having to edit this post because I'm thinking the PS3 has streaming capabilities it still doesn't have. Get your shit together PS3.

If you pay for everything, then yeah, it's missing a couple things. But what it does have it does better and has better video and audio quality. If you pirate shit then it's flat out better with UMS.

Well, different topic since this is going to go around in circles.

DLNA doesn't use a port.

UPNP does. TCP/UDP 1900 and 2869
Does DLNA use UPNP indirectly or something? Those do sound like the right ports that I was having issues with this router... (The router does seem to choke on lots of network stuff from the PS3s which the old Netgear didn't)

I think this may have been mentioned a few pages back but i did not see it... so much for freedom of speech...
Not that I don't agree that it's retarded, but "freedom of speech" doesn't really pertain to this. You're using a privately owned service and they can do whatever they want with it.

Uploaded stuff is one thing, but the Skype call shit should be 100% private. Of course we know it's not since MS and the NSA have been monitoring Skype forever.

Ah, the Skype stuff I missed. I was just talking about the streaming crap being censored. That said, the claim from some random Twitter-tard about being banned for cursing on Skype is highly suspect.

I'll be making an Upcoming Games of 2014 thread soon, but for now, stealing this from Neogaf:NA confirmed release dates for digital and retail PS4/XB1 titles through Spring 2014 - NeoGAF

So now that we're getting closer to the holidays, we should be seeing more and more digital titles getting concrete release dates through March 2014. So here's a look at what we'll be playing through the ol' drought of new console releases.

Some things to note:

It's likely to debut next week, where we'll get our first glimpse at some indie titles for XB1.

DLNA isn't what you think it is. UPNP is what it is riding across, DLNA just happens to be what everyone agreed to call the software on the back end.
