It was a deal formebut I wouldn't call it agooddeal. Best Buy (at least online - you can check their trade values) seemed to have way better prices than Gamestop. I knew I would have zero use for my ps3 once I got a 4. Fortunately my house is all set on coasters and the console & games would just collect dust. I'm also not the type to fire up a game for nostalgia reasons. If I felt there was even a remote chance I would play the games I wouldn't have sold them for pocket lint. The main thing for me was ditching the system painlessly and saving a bit on the ps4. I didn't want to deal with craigslist, eBay, or any bullshit. I just wanted a smooth transaction and a PS4. I usually purchase the greatest hits version of games so I didn't feel too bad about taking the hit. With my attention span these days most console games are practically throw away entertainment. I didn't put more than a few hours into any of the games listed save GT5 & 6.
Best Buy Trades
Black PS3 Slim (160gb) /w 1 controller & AC adapter - $110
Dead Space 2 - $0.25
BioShock Infinite - $3
GTA4 - $1
Red Dead Redemption - $5
Dishonored - $2
Grid Autosport - $23
LA Noire - $1
Total: $145.25
Thanks to your post I looked at the trade in receipt and they fucked up (my fault for not reading it closer) and forgot to scan GTA5 ($26) so I'll have to go back in and get credit for that. Although for $20 it damn near isn't worth the hassle. They also wouldn't take Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition or Gran Turismo 6 25th Anniversary because they were not in their system (more on their values further down.)
I also went into Gamestop today and apparently even if you pre-order the digital guardian edition you still have to come into the store, and get a printed receipt with your code on midnight release or 9/9. Fuck that the whole point is to pre-load and avoid the unwashed masses. So instead I traded GT5:XL & GT6:25th for Last of Us Remastered which is the only other PS4 game I'm remotely interested in short of Destiny & Killzone.
Gamestop Trades (/w powerUP rewards & Last of Us trade in promo)
Gran Turismo 5: XL Edition - $2.10
Gran Turismo 6: 25th Anniversary- $21
Hope that wall of crap helps you make a decision! Good luck!
TLDR; Most places seem to be offering $60-80 for the PS3 (160gb) so I was cool with $110 towards PS4.
