Stick to whatever will be the most social console for the kids. PS4 is the way to go if two in the house keeps them playing together. If they are going to ultimately go back to the 360 to play with their other friends I would suggest the XB1.

I think mostly argued to death, or there is no argument at all: The PS4 is more powerful. I switched from PS4 to XB1 solely because of where my friends were playing. With there being hoards of 360 players out there I don't see the logic in leaving that social network behind for 1080p 60fps vs 1080p 30fps. A lot of publishers are screwing with the PS4 owners now anyways and locking games at 30fps for the sake of parity.

Bull...shit.

1) 900p30 upscaled for XB1, not 1080p30. They cannot even hit 1080p30.
2) There are tons of games for the PS4 coming out that will run at full 1080p60 and some out now obviously.
3) You have to be trolling.

What did you trade in and how much credit did you get? I was under the impression they give you very little so was holding off the trade in for a ps4. If its a good deal I would consider it.

now you can get an xbox one for YOURSELF and let your kids play with that shit, but let your family know you are the Wakandan who makes money and all the shit in the house is yours, and you are being generous and letting them play your toys

halo masterchief collection and Sunset overdrive are gonna be good xbox one exclusives, still not enough yet to make me want to get one though (mostly a space issue at this point).

It was a deal formebut I wouldn't call it agooddeal. Best Buy (at least online - you can check their trade values) seemed to have way better prices than Gamestop. I knew I would have zero use for my ps3 once I got a 4. Fortunately my house is all set on coasters and the console & games would just collect dust. I'm also not the type to fire up a game for nostalgia reasons. If I felt there was even a remote chance I would play the games I wouldn't have sold them for pocket lint. The main thing for me was ditching the system painlessly and saving a bit on the ps4. I didn't want to deal with craigslist, eBay, or any bullshit. I just wanted a smooth transaction and a PS4. I usually purchase the greatest hits version of games so I didn't feel too bad about taking the hit. With my attention span these days most console games are practically throw away entertainment. I didn't put more than a few hours into any of the games listed save GT5 & 6.

Although for $20 it damn near isn't worth the hassle. They also wouldn't take Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition or Gran Turismo 6 25th Anniversary because they were not in their system (more on their values further down.)

I also went into Gamestop today and apparently even if you pre-order the digital guardian edition you still have to come into the store, and get a printed receipt with your code on midnight release or 9/9. Fuck that the whole point is to pre-load and avoid the unwashed masses. So instead I traded GT5:XL & GT6:25th for Last of Us Remastered which is the only other PS4 game I'm remotely interested in short of Destiny & Killzone.

Killzone got a lot of shit here, but it's not a bad game. Just don't expect anything more than 6-8 hours worth of story..

So far I've enjoyed it but I don't have more than 3 hours or so logged. The graphics are fantastic and more than anything I wanted to get acclimated to console shooters again with Destiny coming out as I haven't played them with any real focus since Goldeneye on the N64. The controls feel very tight & sharp and my aim is terrible. Mission accomplished. Time to dig in!

Honestly too much story loses me these days. Bioshock Infinite for example. Great game I'm sure butIfelt like I spent more time summoning shit through portals and picking up crab cakes than killing stuff. I only made it to the first lady's island before I wrote it off. As I've spent the last 15 years of gaming almost exclusively in AAA MMO's I'm just tired of tasks and picking shit up off the ground or in barrels. I've actually quit the genre entirely for the first time ever since EQ. I'm trying to have a console renaissance and get away from PC gaming in general but it sure as hell wasn't happening with Bioshock Infinite (sadly) no matter how good it is. We'll see with Destiny.

If I get through 6-8 hours of the game & beat it I'll consider it a hell of a deal given my history with console games!

Agreed that XB1 launch titles were upscaled from 900p30, and Microsoft continues to struggle getting the XB1 to match resolution with the PS4. But Destiny is reportedly native at 1080p on the XB1, and I think one way they achieve this is by limiting the game to 30fps. The PS4 is being matched to the XB1 for "parity" reasons which is a bum deal for PS4 owners.

Destiny,The Creware at 30fps for parity sake, andCall of Duty Advanced Warfareis aiming for parity as well (which means PS4 will be dropped down the to XB1's level).

Might want to read the Destiny article that article (mis)quotes... PS4 beta was regularly in the 40s.

Parity is pointless without cross-platform play.

While i do love good visuals i do like my games to have good solid FPS. If i see stutter in console games i get pretty pissed tbh.

I am kinda impressed with the Tomb Raider deal. Not only did Square-Enix manage to find a way to avoid getting buried under Uncharted, they even got MS to pay for it. Considering SE's sales of late, I didn't think they had that competence in them.

Futureshop has a PS4 bundle with Second son that now includes a digital download of The last of us for $468. The consul is reg $449 with no games. so look at it as 2 games for $19

Target Canada is also having a crazy sale in august on games. I got GTA5 for $15. Some new Wiiu games for $10. they had a bunch of ps4 and Xbone games marked down from $59 to $15-$10. Each store has different items on sale (mine was sold out of TLOU for ps3 $10 so I went to a diff town and they had it for $59 and would not match)
