Lost Odyssey is amazing. And if you haven't played it you would be doing yourself a disservice for not picking it up for free.

So EB Games Canada had a great deal on trading in Xbox One -> Xbox One S, as soon as I hit the dashboard the console told me my controller needed an update.... This might actually the lowest point in console gaming.

As a developer I have this strange expectation that things should written properly and tested before you ship the product. I'm not an everyday console gamer and this generation the updates are constant annoyance - I can never just turn on the system and play, if its not the console needing an update its the game and now apparently I'll be adding yet another piece updating that delays actually playing.

It would be one thing if it was launch day but since that controller was made it has been months since you probably purchased it. That is acceptable.

I think I can remember one, maye two, controller update in the last 3 years. It's certainly not worth complaining about. And the product did work when it was shipped, they've just improved over time. Would you rather they not update it and force you to buy a new one every time they change something? As a gamer I actually appreciate developers continually working to make their products better, which means I'm more than willing to deal with a few updates here and there rather than your apparant create and abandon philosophy.

And put your console in rest mode and the "constant annoyance" of updates will disappear.

It is. I can't even remember the last time I had a update for my controllers.


It was a painful 10 seconds though. Rest mode ftw.

gamestop is running a 50% trade promo in california and nevada and other states that don't allow cash for game trades (state pawn laws), and a B2G1 on used games everywhere. I traded in a bunch of games yesterday I realized I probably won't play for a few months like The Last Guardian, Pokemon and a few extra copies of FF15/WD2 I had.
