Kinect works fine. Voice commands work fine. TV features work, for the most part. It's way better for a launch console OS than I thought it'd be. In a few years it's going to be so good it'll be ridiculous. For as ambitious as it is, it works well.

Resolution gate. More powerful. Better looking. Sony exclusives. Etc. What is the best selling, most played game onbothsystems? Fucking Call of Duty. Probably the only next gen game that doesn't even look next gen. It literally looks like a 360 game.

I don't think the word literally means what you think it means.
And I do agree with you (in NA at least). I'm pretty sure xbox and PS will be about the same sales wise.
Can't wait to see the 30+ Euro country PS4 numbers + the Black Friday USA PS4 influx. Plus another 7 Asian countries in December and Japan in February. Sony has a big manufacturing and distribution advantage right now.

Realistically they do look close enough to be competitive like the previous generation that was healthy. But PS3 lagged behind for years.
I prefer them being close too - but its ignorance to claim it is at the moment.

Face it, both systems are going to sell every single unit they produce between now and January. The real test is going to be who has the most sales a year or two from now, once anyone can walk into any store and see both systems sitting on a shelf for sale, and actually have to make a decision on which to buy.
A competitive market is great when the competition is selling a high quality product backed by ideologies that you want to see succeed. Microsoft is putting out a shit product and had insanely anti-consumer ideas behind it while being designed by a marketing team rather than people who love video games and are forcing you to take a camera built with capturing people's habits for advertising data in mind all for an extra $100. Sorry, I don't want that kind of company to be competitive. They need a kick in the ass like Sony got at the PS3 launch that took them years to come back from.
Nintendo, however, I would like to see try to be competitive now and put out amazing software to sell their system. They fucked up and made some mistakes and paid for it, hopefully they come back from it.

Neither Microsoft nor Sony are in the video game business because they "love videogames" Both got into the business decades after the companies that pioneered the business, because they saw that there was huge money to be made.
Don't white knight Sony as some altruistic company that is in it purely for the sake of giving gamers great games. Sony is not Nintnendo. Sony is much, much closer to being Microsoft than they are Nintendo.
Whether you prefer Sony or Microsoft, it doesn't matter. The bad guys are winning and have been for quite a while (Sony, Microsoft, EA)
Oh bullshit. They're not saints, but the architects behind this system clearly love games and what they're doing and believe in pushing the PS4 as a gaming console. Downplaying the faces behind Sony like Mark Cerny, Andrew House, Shuhei Yoshida, Shahid Ahmad, etc is bullshit.
