I actually liked the 49ers under Harbaugh, even though they made fools out of my team. I really want Seattle to have to work to win that division, instead of getting a Pats style free pass to top seed. But the reality is that this is a team with some of the most massive roster turnover ever seen (especially with the record it had the past 4-5 years) and a complete replacement of coaching staff. I think its clear the owner does not give a shit, now that he got his new stadium built. I think all the guys who bailed likely came to that same conclusion. Without that old defense to act as a safety net, Kaeperbro is not going to get it done. He is Wilson without Beastmode and a decent line to block for him. Sadly, I think they will consistently rack up 4-6 wins a season for a while and become the new Rams of the division.

Guess I should clarify but what I meant was win a few games no one expects them to win, but always be a decent O-Line away from vying for the division title.

I expect a lot of football inflation talk today...brady's appeal.

personally i expect- at max- 2 games, however i won't be surprised if the punishment- and the overall punishment- to brady- was way overboard imo- went away all together.

I think 2 games being the actual punishment is what all reasonable people (i.e. not Pats fans or haters) expected and predicted in this thread. The only reason he got busted at all was because of the cover up. If he had just owned up to it, a lot of other high profile QBs already had his back and he would have paid the league mandated 30k fine. Instead, he got two old dudes canned, is likely looking at 2 games suspended, and adds fuel to the fire of the "Brady is a cheater" canard.

Decision on the appeal won't happen anytime soon though. They haven't ruled on Hardy and he had his appeal weeks ago.

The NFL's in the shit really. Deep in it. Their woeful disdain of CBA provisions is going to bite them in the ass so hard, especially once the current CBA expires.

Read an article last week saying Brady probable won't even be suspended this year if they don't rule quick enough since it will go to court as soon as it is ruled on, which will put Brady playing this year and suspended next by the time its all settled.

Yeah the 2 game suspension instead of 4 was a done deal as soon as Kraft dropped his argument over the team penalties. Goodell surely told his good friend Kraft that he would reduce the Brady penalties if Kraft shut up about the team punishments. Of course, knowing how oblivious Brady is, he will probably still try to fight the reduced 2 game suspension in court, thinking that he can try to "clear" his name, when the damage is already done and the tarnishment to his legacy (outside of Pats homers of course) is already set in stone.

Could really care less about the Brady appeal. Even at 4 games, I still expect Pats to win that division and be in play for contender status. It'll likely get reduced, because reasons...mostly because it's silly as fuck to begin with. OTA's are a weird time of year, get trickles of info, but hard to really jump to any hard conclusions on draft picks, etc. Biggest stories are the inevitable ACL's that go months before we even start training camps.

Don't forget about fans of whatever teams they play in weeks 3 and 4.

I'm still hoping Brady takes it to court and winds up suspended 4 games at the end of the year.

Most of America would probably agree with you. Cheaters should never prosper but asterisks are fun to use.

This is just delicious BroncoBros. If you had any belief that Kubes was going to play nice with Peyton, you are sorely mistaken. Kubes is going to do everything he can to get a qb under center that he can control all aspects on. Prepare for failure Denver.

BACK to the brady Appeal.

meeting lasted 10hrs, no further meetings necessary, and from talking to sources in the meeting, Brady was supposedly,,his own best ally.

now we wait for the appeal resolution result.

however perception of a few that were in there....brady didn't order or do anything to the balls, IF you believe what he said.

Excellent. I have been saying the Chargers would take the division but maybe my inner homer was right. Chargers are a train wreck right now too though .

Alex Smith is terrible. And he apparently can't find a receiver in the end zone.

Carr is still young and he plays in Oakland. That's like over negative 9000 power there.

Peyton at least is capable. One wonders how much he has left in the tank. Also, new coaching staff. That always goes over well.

Rivers has to be like two steps from going Catler on us. Not in talent, just in "giving-a-shit-a-tude".

I'd say the AFC West is going to end up being the least interesting division but that's discounting the AFC South which has Indy and Luck andnothing else.
