Thing is, I haven't heard anyone who is VR10 who likes the leveling process. Most of the people who give the most praise to TESO haven't played it that much.
My PTS guild probably had close to 50 VR10s. We had a couple hundred VR1+ players. I don't know if I ever heard any of them state they liked the leveling process from VR1-10 but they still enjoyed the game and bought it when it went live.
I would be willing to bet a six pack of beer that either one of two things will happen once Craglorn goes live. Either VR mobs will start giving more EXP making it a lot faster to get VR ranks or the VR mobs will get nerfed in difficulty so you can kill them faster and increase EXP gain that way.

They've stated that VR mobs will be getting a boost in XP. It was in the PTS patch notes if I'm not mistaken.
Suspect we have a number of people who have joined the forum recently and don't realize this community is largely based on us being the best and most hardcore MMO players in the world.
Furor would have had a fit on some of the filthy casualing going an around here in his hey day.

Heh, maybe. Then again this is a different game for a different time. The only 'hardcore' thing to do in this game currently is to get emperor and last I heard Furor spends his gaming time playing shitty phone-games.

Well to be fair, its not 1999 anymore, and i don't think most people are a hardcore as they were back then, if so, then they probably don't have kids/wife/job..... Like Tuco said, most people who like the game have not played it to V10, myself included. Time will tell, like most if not all the games since WOW they don't seem to last that long anymore.

I think she's waiting for more levels to release or some shit, she's like level 500+ and all the subquests in the levels are complete.
I'm a fucking noob at the game so I'm all starry eyed. Also, she is so fucking good at Mario Kart it's unreal. Like MLG good.
She hasn't paid a cent either.
Last I heard he was moved as 1 the Project leaders to Titan but that maybe vaporware at this point so who knows.

VR on my nightblade was fucking terrible, granted I could sneak through dungeons but trying to kill mobs with no downtime was a joke and I barely survived each time, but that was me as a bow nightblade spamming silver shards and vamp drain bc I was using other 3 bars to train skills 
Hoping my new templar which is about to hit 50 will be better due to heals, unlimited stamina and more ae abilities.

Do yourself a favor get Arch-Age think its rerolled Consensus atm that even as there still localizing to English text and voice the game is more sandboxy, just better.

The consensus is the PVP is very fun, but somewhat zergish. It uses three realms which makes the balance better and the siege fights are nicely done. The PVE is ok. The graphics are stellar. The storylines are awful, but at least better than GW2. Dumbledore is amusing to listen to, at least.
I have a week left on my account if you just want to screw around and try it out.

I'm not going to continue my sub but OTOH I don't feel like I wasted my money. If I had nothing else to play I would certainty keep my sub alive and continue playing without any regrets but I've got AA alpha, W* beta weekends and HexTCG all on my plate at the moment and this lost out.

I liked 1-50 leveling because you can either go full questing like a good pilgrim or bash mobs like a mad cunt. It gives choice. VR1-10 questing didn't give choice, you have to do EVERY stuff around up to VR8 and then go hop in a farm train on any last zone public dungeon. Also, VR leveling is slightly harder than normal leveling, mobs are buffed up and some Elite ones could be challenging, depending on your class (it's TESO though, it's challenging only if you're a newb not knowing how game mechanics work). Story wise there are some lame quests (the side ones) but main story quests are really cool, there's deception, betrayal, rape and murder everywhere and Coldharbour last quests were really nice.
As for consensus, I don't think there's any right now, besides "it's your average AAA MMORPG with some good things a lot of bad things waiting to be fixed". If you like MMORPGs maybe you'll find leveling experience and PvP okay. It has some "Skyrim-esque" feel but it's not Skyrim, you'll have a lot of people everywhere killing your mobs and looting your barrels and immersion wise you're not the Dragonborn, you're just hero_1 running about other heroes. You can find the game under $40 right now, money wise I'd say it's pretty good since it will give you hundreds of gameplay hours in a market where most $70 console games can be finished in 5 hours and have the same replayability than a used condom.
Main concerns right now, from an european point of view :
- No Eu server
- Weapon switch input delay
- Lack of social features (no AH, no guildnames, terrible store system)
- PvP needs some serious love and vision
- Gameplay balance (vamps in PvP)
