Basically a guy on another forum got busted for posing as a regular poster in defending all the faults with the PC Version of Batman Arkham Knight, a game just released, but in reality was working for Warner Brothers as an Executive Marketing Director (Publisher of the game) and was called out on it.
This, unfortunately, happens at an alarming rate per day. You once asked for any shred of evidence (A long time ago) that this happens. I thought I would provide it to you
The worst offenders currently are Something Awful (Admin staff is trying to clean it up) Reddit, and even Amazon has now gone on the offense for fake reviews promoting products in disguise as a general consumer and is trying to develop technology to stop it from happening.
