That's honestly my biggest fear for expanding chains.

I'd love if they opened up a Portillos here, but would it be as good as others in the Chicago area, or would it just be a mediocre franchised mess that shouldn't be allowed to operate?

I'm betting the Whataburgers here will coast on the novelty for a long while, though.

True story: I was working in a regional hospital here, and we took the guy escorting us to lunch. We would do that a lot, and turn it in as an expense. So anyways, we asked him where he wanted to go for lunch, and we were like "What about Whataburger? There's the new one right down the street?" and he was legit like "I tried it once and I wasn't impressed..." and went on a sort of screed against it.

I think he said something about it being worse than Burger King

So we took him to a Mexican restaurant nearby instead, LOL

If we keep this up we're gonna have to restrain TheBeagle TheBeagle before someone gets hurt

He's gonna trying rushing the ring while "THE STARS AT NIGHT ARE BIG AND BRIGHT..." (CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP) plays over the loudspeakers

The one we got in Springfield is absolute trash. It's like they hired people and then just didn't tell them how to run any of the equipment in the restaurant. Something is always broken or takes 15 minutes to prepare and the building is like a month old.

The assholes didn’t have one of those ice cream things, so this was my first crumbl cookie experience. I don’t really enjoy stuff like this, so looking at it objectively it tastes like they use quality ingredients and it probably would appeal to a mega fat, cause it tastes dense as fuck. One big bite is all I needed.

Not worth. I’d much rather have a slice of cake or something. This will be my last crumbl experience… probably

Their menu changes every Sunday. So that’s part of the big hype behind Crumbl. Their stuff is good but it’s almost way too much. Less is more IMO.

Saw this pop up in my feed and brought back some major nostalgia. We used to have one of these places when I was in high school. It was 10 burgers and 5 fries for$10.

Speaking of hidden gems in KC when I lived there. They used to have this ghetto American Inventor Italian place that served spaghetti and shit out of a fucking car wash. I can’t remember the name of the place but if you know then you know and the shit was solid.

I might go get something from Dominic's this week.

Sometimes I'll stop and get something from Cascone's, which isn't far from In-a-Tub either

well shit, I haven't been to Christine's Firehouse for a giant pork tenderloin this year, either...hmmmm

EDIT: I forgot to tag Regime Regime

It’s been about 15 years since I lived there, I would go visit from time to time before I grandparents passed away they had a 300 acre farm a couple of hours outside of KC. So there are probably plenty of places I have no idea about but honestly from the many places I have lived KC wasn’t to bad. Well Kansas City Missouri at least Kansas City Kansas was a filthy American Inventorhole.

Well, that's 100% true. And I grew up in KCK.

What could possibly go wrong with a mcdonalds designed entirely around the functioning of the ice cream machine.
The first one opened in Chicago almost a year ago and has been doing extremely well.

Can I come live with you?

Sure you can crash on my sofa. Food was messy as hell though. Teriyaki burgers are always messy but this one took it to another level.

Grabbed the Teriyaki Chicken Baconator while I was there too.
