Was it Hekotat that missed out on the Italian at Arby's in his area? Tried it today - top notch, possibly best Italian I've had outside of a small shop in Maryland that closed like a decade ago. Really damn amazing for a fast food item.

Only downside - not a fan of the bread they used for it, might have been better if the bread was crisped up to get some better texture, but it was just the same roll as the french dip with no extra treatment. But I'd take those guts and throw them in a better roll any day of the week and be amazed.

I'm sure it's going to be a limited item though unfortunately.

I was hungry so I was thinking of Lay's flavors:

Cheddar Bay Biscuit
Raising Cane's Sauce

The word bay in there really makes me think of and wonder why they've not tried doing an Old Bay style chip nationally.

I miss Old Bay chips quite a bit since the move - I've done some home made but the ratio is clearly off and way way too thick.

On Friday I made a terrible mistake. I got a double whopper meal (Large, of course) at burger king, then went for a tux fitting. That was fine. But then immediately my brother bought me a Portuguese steak dinner that was approximately 2 pounds worth of food or more. My stomach has been in terrible distress since.

WTF is a Protuguese steak dinner
It's not good, I can tell you that. Our area is high in the Portuguese population, so there are a ton of hole-in-the-wall restaurants that feel like you're eating in someones house. He raved about this place.

It was some humongous cube steak (yeah, cube), about a pound of rice and a pound of fries. Despite being a cube steak, it tasted alright as it was spicy as shit. Rice was good. Fries were terrible, how you fuck up fries I don't know.

All in all 1/10 would not eat again.

Is old bay really known outside of MD? I think old bay chips might not be quite as popular in places where the seasoning isn't so ubiquitous.

Yeah it was me, they used to crisp it up a bit, but it is an amazing sandwich for a chain. Can't believe it's limited time only, fuckers.

We picked up some Old Bay chips at the Food Lion at the beach in North Carolina. They were okay, but not as good as actual Old Bay seasoned shrimp (which we did do). Personally I'll stick to Jalapeno chips if I'm looking for some spice combination. Until I try those Biscuit N Gravy chips that is..

Herr's makes "Old Bay" chips, but to be perfectly honest I prefer the Utz "Crab Chips" much better.
The Utz's Crab Chips were what we got. They were okay, but not my cup of tea.

My brother has Celiac's disease though so he can't eat gluten (the real disease, not the 'intolerance' bullshit) and Utz's cheese balls are gluten free and fucking great. A serving size is 32. THIRTY-TWO! McCheese would approve. Especially at 4 calories per ball!

just gotta say that the Taco Bell Bacon Club chalupa is so god damn good. most Taco Bells are about to phase it out of their limited time only menu. go get one if you still can. if you're going at a time of day where they're not too busy, make sure to ask if it is going to be a fresh chalupa shell -- chalupas are only supposed to stay on the cook line for 10 minutes after they get out of the fryer, but some Taco Bells can get lazy about it...

They have Old Bay chips in Dallas as well.
Remember what brand offhand? Herr's and Utz both ship only regionally from what I understand (Utz very small region, Herr's larger but still not far enough to reach FL - can't imagine they reach TX or OH [assuming Tenks was talking the chips and not seasoning]).

Still dream of the day Lay's would take them national though.

And I dunno about how well they'd do, but in all my recent travels since they started doing the freezer case Old Bay fries (which are pretty damn good with the deep fry instructions - not as good as the Checkers ones, but second best I've found since getting my deep fryer a couple months back) those have literally been ALL OVER Florida and on my trip to Lousiana where I needed to make a grocery store detour, they had the as well. Old Bay seasoning itself is sold every goddamnwhere I've been these days too.

Which of course was part of the plan McCormick had fort it when they purchased it - it was super regional before McCormick bought them however. [One and only stockholder meeting I bothered going to for McCormick was the year after the acquisition and they were talking about the national market penetration they were planning at the time/etc - still one and only stockholder meeting I've personally attended]

HEATHEN!

[Although I prefer Herr's myself - they actually can form a bit of a burn if you're shoveling too many - Utz is a little milder]

I got the fiery chicken fries tonight. Not spicy in the slightest. Severely disappointed. I even used the onion ring dipping sauce hoping to feel something, but nope. Maybe my taste buds are dead.
