I got the fiery chicken fries tonight. Not spicy in the slightest. Severely disappointed. I even used the onion ring dipping sauce hoping to feel something, but nope. Maybe my taste buds are dead.
Nah, they were just SLIGHTLY spicy - like two minutes after eating three I'd feel a little burn.

Had some stomach distress a couple hours later though, but not sure if that's a spicy thing or just something else. (usually even super spicy doesn't cause me stomach distress)

It's not good, I can tell you that. Our area is high in the Portuguese population, so there are a ton of hole-in-the-wall restaurants that feel like you're eating in someones house. He raved about this place.

It was some humongous cube steak (yeah, cube), about a pound of rice and a pound of fries. Despite being a cube steak, it tasted alright as it was spicy as shit. Rice was good. Fries were terrible, how you fuck up fries I don't know.

All in all 1/10 would not eat again.
Ask KFC Japan, motherfuckers are experts at fucking up fries. I haven't had a good fry in 4 years.

Usually I don't get much spice, especially from fast food. I remember my brother getting their $1 or whatever spicy chicken sandwich and saying it was unbearable to eat. He had to give me the second sandwich. I ate it and barely tasted any spice.. they say guys love to brag about how much spice they can handle and I guess I'm no different.

KFC fries in China aren't that great either but the Waffle fries at Pizza Hut are solid. Dico's chicken chain here have good fries.

Remember what brand offhand? Herr's and Utz both ship only regionally from what I understand (Utz very small region, Herr's larger but still not far enough to reach FL - can't imagine they reach TX or OH [assuming Tenks was talking the chips and not seasoning]).

Still dream of the day Lay's would take them national though.

And I dunno about how well they'd do, but in all my recent travels since they started doing the freezer case Old Bay fries (which are pretty damn good with the deep fry instructions - not as good as the Checkers ones, but second best I've found since getting my deep fryer a couple months back) those have literally been ALL OVER Florida and on my trip to Lousiana where I needed to make a grocery store detour, they had the as well. Old Bay seasoning itself is sold every goddamnwhere I've been these days too.

Which of course was part of the plan McCormick had fort it when they purchased it - it was super regional before McCormick bought them however. [One and only stockholder meeting I bothered going to for McCormick was the year after the acquisition and they were talking about the national market penetration they were planning at the time/etc - still one and only stockholder meeting I've personally attended]
I don't remember but I know I saw them at Kroger and RaceTrac. If I swing by RaceTrac today at lunch I will confirm.

Don't worry I'll go to Carre Four and stock up before I leave. I got some Wasabi Doritos too. Quite amazing.

Exact same experience. Tried them yesterday, almost no spice to them whatsoever. About on par with the mild sauce from Taco Bell. You can tell there's a little flavoring there, but it's definitely not hot. Nowhere close to a Spicy Chicken sandwich from Wendys or Chick-Fil-A and I don't really even consider them hot.

But then again, I've never, ever, eaten anything from a national fast food chain that I would actually consider "hot"

Same here, nothing spicy from national chains. They must figure a low amount of people will buy that stuff.

I went back to Taco Bell for 2 more of the Dare Devil Chipotle loaded grillers. This time I got them without the nacho cheese sauce. They were even better. Add fire sauce and they are an 8/10.

They told me it would be 70 cents extra per griller for shredded cheese so I went without. They put enough chipotle sauce that they were not dry but you might want to ask for a little extra just to make sure.
