Cilantro tastes like nothing to you? That's crazy. It's one of the strongest flavored herbs there is. A little goes a long way in lightening up otherwise super heavy dishes.

Yeah, you sure that wasn't parsley vaclav? Shit looks so similar I'd imagine they even stock it in the wrong spot at grocery stores all the time. Cilantro has a very strong and distinct taste. I don't care for it personally, but I'm not going to throw out a dish because of a little cilantro.

I've always been an extreme heat guy, even since I was a kid. I just enjoy a nice strong heat. If I'm eating for pure taste I'll get some sort of medium buffalo sauce thing - that's the best balance to heat and flavor for me. If I want to be a tough guy I go hotter, but typically I only do that to "try something out" or if there's some sort of contest like when I did a ghost pepper contest.

I'm glad we agree on bleu cheese. The worst. I also got a gorgonzola steak before I knew what gorgonzola was and it was equally as terrible.
I won the Ghost Pepper and Nacho contest in Vegas during SOE live and still like like Blue Cheese.

Super Taster denied.

Anyways

I got a 40 count of Pizza rolls Supreme and 40 count of Pepperoni Khane. I am thinking about mix and matching bro.

I may be a Super Taster, I've never been tasted, but I do have a super power. I can remember any food I've ever eaten and conjure that taste into my mouth and actually taste it. Basically makes cravings for shit unbearable, but it's pretty awesome sometimes.

Anywhozzle, I had BK chicken nuggets. They are mostly tasteless, processed and formed chicken nuggets. Not as good as their OG chicken sandwich chicken. Basically they're just a meat vector for sauces. If they weren't 10 for $1.49 I'd say they are the worst of the "Big Fast Food" nuggets. For that price though, they're pretty decent for filling yourself and just cramming a bunch of honey mustard down your gullet.

Also had the Jalapeno chicken fries (more flavor jalapeno than spice jalapeno). Not terrible. Not great. Not worth the price.

The "buttery" extra long cheeseburger was pretty good. It's their standard long bun and two patties with mayo/lettuce/onions and then they put a garlic butter spread on the bread. Pretty good when you got the bites with actual garlic butter on them. Like a skinny dong-shaped whopper with some garlic flavoring.

I can taste it by itself as something - but I know quite well it's lack of flavor to me - wife is obsessed with it, she'll throw it on anything it makes the most remote amount of sense. It does taste soapy if I take a sprig and eat it raw, but so mild that I can't make it out with any dish I've used it in. (Generally stuff with cumin and other strong spices though)

[Had never tried it solo until this inspired me to though - we have some in the pantry (and it's not too old, got it maybe a month ago and it's been kept sealed)]

I'd say it's like slightly soapy pencil shavings solo.... and honestly cilantro rice at Chipotle (my first knowing experience with it, and when the wife got obsessed with it) - I literally can't tell the difference between a batch of the cilantro-lime rice (in a burrito bowl where I can target it solo) besides the lime missing when I get "plain rice" instead. I can see it, and it looks prettier with the flecks of green, but zero flavor to me - rice and lime are stronger flavors to me.

It's nuts to me to think no one can taste the 40lbs of cilantro it feels like to me that they put in their rice....but I'm used to feeling that way about a lot of things really. -shrug-

The Nashville tenders at KFC are pretty good. I wish there was more heat to them but for a fast food chain that's the best you can do.

Edit: sub the colesaw for potato wedges and you have a awesome combo!

I ate 40 pizza rolls last night and some tacos. Feeling extra shitty this morning, thought I would shit my pants on the way in - in fact, I still haven't confirmed that I didn't.

Its funny if you just google "cilantro taste" you'll see a ton of articles on why it tastes horrible to some people and great to others

I don't think I've ever had it, or if I have I never noticed.

I bought some of the Taco Bell Spicy Ranchero sauce for my tacos, thinking it sounded nice. It tasted metallic and awful, I threw the whole bottle out.

Not sure if it's a supertaster thing or not, but that shit tasted like battery acid.

I don't know what battery acid tastes like. Maybe trying battery acid once (or more?) in your life fucked up your taste buds.

Fukuryu Ramen is, for whatever reason, expanding from Melbourne AUS to Columbus OH. It is expected to open end of February. I'm pretty pumped. Despite having a huge Japanese population we don't really have a ton of ramen shops here. The only other one I know of that is well reviewed is in a Japanese market where no one speaks English and they don't have forks.
