The Fast Food Thread

So a few updates. Tried a new Arbys that just opened. Going high end wannabe like Wendys.

Had the chicken BLT thing with coupon was pretty cheap and better than expected. Tried the spicy steak fajita. WTF WTF. Spiciest fucking thing I've had in a long while. (Keep in mind I'm white but I can usually tolerate mild/moderate stuff) I was dying, lips burning. Took like 30 minutes to subside driving sipping on a jamocha. Saw several new items it's hard to keep up w/ what they have. A fire roasted philly a 3 cheese steak sandwhich. Really feel like Arbys is making a decent resurgance after years of pretty bad mediocrity.


Carls/Hardee's. Finally got to try the beer cheese burger. Pretty much just a bacon cheeseburger but I liked the beer cheese because it's essentially really thick nacho cheese sauce (but not spicy). Made the burger like nice and creamy with classic burger taste. I asked for one of my 2 to have thousand island added and apparently to the mexicans that means replace..... so one w/ no beer cheese but the deliscious california burger thousand island. Still pretty good, but I was looking forward to a mix of both.

Going to try the fries next time, that cheese sauce out to be perfect on them rather than a lot of fast food where it's only half melted shredded cheese all over.

I know theyve been changing for a while. But I remember still being able to go in and only have a couple items I really wanted and usually being underwhelmed with price/quality. I still think that maple bacon burger ended up being kind of a big dud for example. It's only in the last year that I think the taste has also improved with really out of the park good choices. I love that gyro's are permanent now, the sliders are godly (or at least my corned beef one)

Arby's has been hitting it out of the park for at least the last 4-5 years. Once they stepped out of their different iterations of a 5 for $5 deal (which itself was pretty godlike already) and in to their rotating specialty sandwiches / wraps it was all uphill.

The Italian is pretty good. I wish they would toast or something the bread on their Reuben though. That is the main reason I don't order it very often.

Update on Carls........ Their french toast sticks was phenomenal. Granted mine were super fresh not sure how often you will get stale ones. But it was like 5 or 6 piece for 2.50. I was skeptical but they are pretty big. Topped in powdered sugar. And just were very very tasty.

Also had the beer cheese fries. I was right, they were great. Even better it's like they individualls topped each waffle fry rather than just a glob of cheese on top of a pile of fries. Bacon almost looked like ham steak it was so juicy/meaty/tender.

I picked up jalapeño cheddar chex mix and that shit is seriously spicy. They did not fuck around.

Don't put words in my mouth. While all mom and pop pizza joints serve the same overpriced pizza, milkshakes vary dramatically in quality from place to place.

My kids got hungry traveling home today. I stopped at a Burger King mixed with one of those big travel stops, but still had a drive through so I figured it was still a normal BK. I ordered a 1.49 10 pc nugget, 2 dollar fries, cheeseburger, and 2 value drinks. Shit starts popping up on screen for like a 1.99 each and I am thinking WTF surely it will just total out right, and my wife asks from the passenger seat if they have a value menu. The woman sounds offended and rudely replies with some half understandable sentence including no. I am like whatever, its a few extra bucks, and say ok. Then the 10 pc nuggets pops on the screen for 4.99 and brings the total to like 15 bucks. I just noped the F out of there and drove past the window. Went a block down the road and got food for 5.50 at jack in the box. WTF travel BK??
