Triple bacon buttery jack burger from Jack on the Box is pretty damn amazing! The sauce they use is fucking great. Not sure if that's the bacon butter they say they use, or if it's something else. So good!

But like most things from Jack in the Box, I won't go out of my way to go back for it. Something of this caliber from Taco Bell and I'm going back multiple times a week for it. Like the recent double stacks. So wtf is it with JitB that I don't wanna go back?

Stopped at target on the way home the other day because I wanted booze they carry there and its on the way so I also picked up a pack of ground meat for dinner. Get home, get comfy, and the wife and I are about to start cooking when she noticed the meat expired 4 fucking days ago. So I had to change again to run to the store to get another pack of ground meat, so rustled. Target has some great stuff in their grocery section that you can only find there, but you also gotta check that shit because not many people make groceries there.

Went and reminded myself how good Carl's beer cheese burger and beer cheese fries are.

Was also happy to see they still have the cheap cali CP classics which are perfect for when i have no coup coupon or the limited time sandwich sucks.

I do freeze it. I split the huge tube into 2lb freezer bags. I took it outta the freezer, and put it in the fridge to thaw. Within a couple days, normal thaw time, it was bad.

Damn that blows. Good to know, I usually just buy the family packs at ShopRite 90/10 for like $4.50 a pound. Wish I could buy in bigger bulk honestly.

I suppose it shouldn't be surprising since it's Walmart, but disappointing that 18lbs of ground beef was basically bad. Oh well, live and learn.

I will say all of their chicken has been fine. Sits in fridge multiple days and doesn't go bad. And the big pack of boneless skinless chicken thighs for $1.99 / lb is a great deal!

Is my mom a witch? Why do you all freeze it uncooked as soon as you get it home, only to thaw it and cook it on demand? Because the way I was taught to handle ground beef was to bring it home and immediately brown the whole fucking thing (probably in multiple batches, since 5 lbs or whatever is a lot of fucking beef to brown at once), and THEN portion it out and freeze it. That way you have a bunch of plastic baggies in the freezer just waiting to be defrosted in the microwave for a couple of minutes and then tossed into whatever you are cooking. I daresay there is no difference in taste doing it that way, and I'm not aware of it ever going bad either.

Is this rocket surgery witchcraft? Every single person I have ever spoken to about this subject seems amazed by this revelation.

I've always frozen meat(ground or otherwise) completely raw and never had any issues with meat being bad. It's even better when you vacuum seal it before freezing.
