We talk about pumpkin flavored fast food items in this thread every year in the fall. Pumpkin pie blizzards are especially popular, and you can find posts about them dating back to 2013.
yeah but this year its trendy to make fun of pumpkin spice

Not a fan of coffee. I used to work at a place that shared the driveway with the community coffee place where they unloaded the beans via a grain elevator off the river and then roasted. So 3 days a week this overpowering smell of coffee. Hated it.

I had a pumpkin pie blizzard last year based on recommendations in this thread. It taught me not to follow recommendations in this thread.

I very rarely see pumpkin stuff around halloween other than maybe a pumpkin pie at the grocery store and it's for a week tops. Maybe because people don't raise pumpkins here.

Yeah, it's not pumpkin flavor. It's the spice flavor in pumpkin pie.

If we're talking coffee, can someone tell me about Keurigs? Is the coffee good? It's certainly fast and convenient and terrible for the environment.
I use my Kuerig almost daily, it's just crazy convenient. I like dark roast/bold flavored coffee, my wife likes light roast/breakfast blend types. Neither of us would ideally want a pot of the others coffee, so the Kuerig is a nice compromize.

Not to mention that during weekdays, nobody has time to sit around in the morning and drink a pot of coffee before work(and I don't even have time to screw with my French Press). The Kuerig is great for making a quick cup before you walk out the door.

If you shop online(or Costco) you can get decent deals on K-cups. I usually purchase them when I can get them for around 25-30 cents apiece in bulk. For the love of god, don't buy k-cups at the grocery store, or walmart/target, you'll spend a fortune. 50 cents per cup or more.

If it's a lazy weekend and I have plenty of time to dick around, i'll grind up some beans, use my french press, etc. It's definitely a better cup of coffee, but 5 out of 7 days per week the Kuerig wins out for convenience.

I tried the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard, it was not good. It was pretty awful, actually.

Then I had a Pumpkin Pie Concrete from Freddy's. That was some of the best fucking ice cream I have ever had. It had like a slice of pumpkin pie in it. hoooooooooly shit.

I have a Keurig and I used it when I lived by myself but it has been in storage since I moved in with my wife. I use an insulated carafe for the coffee maker so it keeps the coffee decently hot until about noon. For work I own one of these thermoses (highly recommended) that I fill up with coffee and bring into work. It is cheaper/easier than buying coffee. The thermos keeps the coffee warm all day. I've even had it come out warm when I pour it out the next day.

I, too, have a coffee maker with an insulated carafe, and a travel coffee mug that keeps that shit hot for literally 8 hours. The coffee is brewed at 6 in the morning, at 1:30 it is still hot enough that no warming is necessary.

I currently roast my own coffee, and I'm pretty happy with that, but one of the offices in which I work is getting one for convenience. I'll give it a try.

I need to look into those k cup type permanent cups where you can dunno some ground into the cup. I hate price/wasteful ness of the disposables. On demand cups just using ground from can. Though I imagine you lose out on using the filter which I still go by a study on some of the bad cancer stuff in coffee oil that gets filtered out in paper filters.

Lots of k-cups are shit but you can find good ones. The convenience factor is out of this world though. It's also useful if you're a tea drinker. My wife uses it like 3-4 times a day for a quick cup of hot water.

Also good with a self-grind and the reusable pods too (on the 1.0 of course, 2.0 won't allow it yet [by winter though supposedly])
