How it started
It's called acting. Back in the day men played all the women parts. There are bigger things in life to be upset about than this. Take a breath. Go take a walk.

Lastly, I'm sorry to break it to you, but King Arthurs legends is not History.

No its just white history.

Your premise might make some sense if it wasnt only white characters being rainbow washed, but it is only white characters being rainbow washed. Have some self respect and dignity.

Ghost in the Shell (Scarlett Johansson) ? A Mighty Heart (Angelina Jolie)? Argo (Ben Affleck)? Elizabeth, Michael and Marlon (Joseph Fiennes)? The 33 (Juliette Binoche)? Every main part in the Last Airbender? The Lone Ranger (Johnny Depp)? 21 (Jim Sturgess)? Noah (Russell Crowe)? Exodus: Gods and Kings (Christian Bale)? Prince of Persia (Jake Gyllenhaal)? Drive (Carey Mulligan)?

Old movies, personal favourite, John Wayne as Genghis Khan.

nice wikipedia list there. do you think two wrongs make a right? how many here besides me have ever ever seen Ghengis Khan with John Wayne? Johnny Depp was maybe the worst casting choice for that film. and Jake Gylenhaal is also middle eastern descent, so scratch him of that list. the rest of those names are studio choices based on who they thought would put asses in the seats. wokester casting choices dont put asses in the seats, they just destroy franchises and cultures.

I have seen 90% of The Duke's movies made from 1945 onward, but only 3 or so, from his catalog, previous to that. I remember bits and pieces of The Conqueror, so I probably caught it on AMC or TCM as a kid, when they would do tribute marathons to various actors. It didn't make much of an impression.

Ghost in the Shell (Scarlett Johansson) ?
Fantastic example. Scarlett being cast received A LOT of controversy from the left since they deemed it white washing. Know what they didnt bitch about? Black people in GiTS. Also of all the IPs to have a switched ethnicity, this makes the most sense considering the nature of the main character.

As for the rest your list, meh. Half those characters are half white or more than half white in their source.

What universe do you live in that everyone doesnt laugh at that casting and realize how preposterous it was for John Wayne to play Khan?

Point is that this isnt a random case of he happened to be the best actor available for the role. Its a clear concentrated effort to erase white people from their own works. Directors, studios go out of their way to replace a white character with a non white. When the opposite happens its nothing but outrage like with GiTS, My Dinner with Herve, Cloud Atlas etc.

Yeah, how is that any different though? Studios go with majority rule as that makes the most money and give next to zero fucks they're going to rile the disgruntled minority of the time.

Your lives would be much less angst-ridden if you were a little colourblind and stopped wringing your hands over millionaire actors getting this job and losing that one and actual do something to improve your own lives rather than twisting on a forum about black little mermaids. Fuck's sake, most of you are a bunch of old cunts like me and this shit is taking years off your life.

I guess w/e keeps you up at night. It really doesn't bother me the skin color/race or gender they decide to make a role. Its make believe. If they want to make Batman an old Jewish lady from the Bronx, more power to them. (I'd actually go see that movie). People get too emotional about fictional things.

Struggling to see your point here unless you are really that ignorant.

Somewhat of a false equivalence likening the religious/partition tensions between two asian countries and an English actor who just happens to be of Indian descent playing a part in a US movie.

Unless of course, you believe he's somehow tainted because of his origins and should "stick to his own kind".

Or you could just be trying to dig yourself out of looking like an arse after having made two dumb statements in a row.
Its Chuk, he has a dribbling seizure just trying to tie his own shoelaces. Velcro and elasticicated waistbands are the only reason he's still alive.

Zendaya as Michelle pseudo-MJ is whatever, Elba as Heimdall is actively good and the rest are mediocre/shit/relatively unknown actors in shit shows/movies that likely wouldn't be particularly improved by replacing them with similar tier white actors so I have a hard time mustering up any outrage over any of these in particular. If the quality of the work ends up suffering because of this kind of shit at some point it'll self correct when they stop making money long term. I know there's examples of studios willing to eat shit on shows/movies for identity politics, but it's not something that's sustainable studiowide.
