So i killed arch lich in temple cus someone in guild said he is where you get the greater remove curse spell?

I got 2x drops from the first Rhag in the sequence to spawn arch lich but got nothing from Arch Lich, is that what you guys mean by greater remove curse or was I supposed to do something with arch lich as well?

Also btw emp's adds don't respawn, watched the video & read the strat on eqprogression both said they respawned so I left all 8 of those fucks up hitting me the whole time until they started to slowly die from soul well and noticed they didn't respawn....So that made the emp fight harder for no reason
Only Rhag 1 drops Remove Greater Curse. Their searchable item database is really well done. Don’t worry about anything in an unknown zone as that content isn’t live on THJ. And I’ll repeat what I said earlier that the guy who made that video is just a twitch content creator who made a video of what Luclin was like on live or other Emus. He isn’t a dev and didn’t have any test server information.

Yeah the info was good for general luclin knowledge for those of us who never fucking did it but it isnt precise especially for any changes thj is implementing.

So basically I can go in and kill rhag1 every day for what seems like a guaranteed drop of remove greater curse which is selling for 7-10k?
I had the double spawn bug so I got 2 copies yesterday, scribed 1, sold the other already

It's not a guaranteed drop and I think the double spawn just got fixed with a patch.

I got greater remove curse from arch lich, not rhag 1. Part of same spawn cycle yeah, but not specifically rhag 1, if that matters to you

Wow, thats gonna suck for peeps that havent done this shit yet. Basically the whole room aggroes your ass in both instances. While they were rooted you could slay out all the adds and then kill boss. Now you gotta do it all at once.

Full notes....

they reduced vt trash hps by 50%, twice? Patch notes a few days ago said the same. A 75% reduction might be worth coming back... maybe a few days b4 pop.

So tried VT today, having never done it before. There is lots of trash, seems like more spawn when you kill them. But they are not too bad with the 50% thing. Cant inagine that place with 50% more HP on the trash. They seem even easier than NTOV, but there is just a lot more of them. Killed 3 raid bosses and was on my 4th when my internet went out. Now those mo-fos have some HP. Just going to trudge my ass through there and collect AA while im exploring...Tomorrow. Got to get my ass into the office for the next few days.

Started smithing today, also never having done it before. Got up to like 122. Biggest hurdle was finding all the shit I needed, the molds, the patterns and all that. Who sells what, what to farm... Then I found some site that had all that shit, what NPC and where. Then there is the problem with the different eras of EQ and all the guides out there. But I found one that was for prog servers that seems to be working. It seems like crafting gets a hole hell of a lot easier once POK comes around when all that shit is all consolidated to one place. I had to treck around Norrath to find the shit. Never knowing how much of the shit to buy with the fail rates and skill ups not happening on every click. Also tried farming some fine steel weapons, but aint no one got time for that, lol. Went to Karnors and cleared that place a few times, but the drop rates are just shit. Plus when they drop enchanted or lego, you cant use them. Big oversight on the devs part IMO. I ended up buying them all from vendors at 50pp/ea. Kinda steep but it is what it is. Farming PP is easy as fuck, even without selling shit on the bazaar. Those fucking 100 slotter bags help out a lot. I dont know how people did it back in the day without the quick ports and the bags and all that. But then again shit just took a lot longer back then too so one could collect shit while leveling if you knew what to keep. The crafting itself is clunky as fuck, but it seems to have some depth to it at least. Plus today with the vext thal AA I got the smithing one which reduces the fail rate by 50% which should help on the mats.

Next step, I guess, is to farm up some animal skins for some leather padding for the next armor. Gonna hit up the karanas and do a few mass cullings.

Look in the Bazaar for a “of Slaughter” weapon for VT. They have Greater Akheva bane and will make everything except the Blobs MUCH easier. You are also going to want to skip leather padding on this server as spidering silk is a right pain to get. I’d have to look again for something specific but you should be able to find an Acrylia recipe for skill ups as Acrylia is very easy to farm.

I got my Barb main SK/Rog/Wiz up to around 122 before I found out (unlocked a memory) that Wood Elves of Karana (deity) have smithing on easy mode.

As it happened, my buff bot CLR/DRU/ENC on my vendor account just happened to be a Wood Elf of Karana, so I just started over on that toon. I power leveled up the tradeskill AA for it then (after the easy low level stuff) made Wood Elf fletching kits (Feir`Dal Fletching Kit) to 163 with all vendor purchased item and Karana arrow heads (Blessed Arrow Heads) to get to 188 with Plains Pebbles and vendor items. Plains Pebbles are foraged and you can easily make a macro for it, then sit your ass in South Karana with the double forage AA to get enough fairly quickly. Each forged Pebble turns into 4 combines and I think I needed around 120 combines (40 Pebbles).

After that it's imbued velious studs to 222, which cost a fortune to make. The good news is that every plain velium weapon can be broke down into velium ore for them. So I would collect all weapons when farming DN and break down the weapons that couldn't be sold to the tribute master (the special velium weps for tribute cant be broke down anyways).

Be aware you can get around 30% skill increase from items in Luclin now too.

All of this just sounds like I'd rather eat my own ass.

Tradeskills in EQ were always the most dog shit thing ever and is something that you can tell they added very last minute.

Macros make is a bit easier. In game ones combined with mouse macros (Logitec/Razor) make it so you can afk/simi-afk combines for most of the stuff.

If I send you the items can you make some seru weapons for me ?
I haven't actually got up to even 222 yet, but I have the mats in my bank. Too much stuff to do, including the Earing quest, so it got put on the back burner. Plus I don't see Seru being possible with SK/Rog/Wiz, so don't really need the weapons.

With the Seru Bane weps being 320+ trivial, I'm not sure I could even try to combine at 211, plus 15% from items (I have the hammer from temple, but not gloves from VT). If it would let me do the combine, the success chance would probably be 50%.

Someone said a few pages ago that they could do combines for people and have 240 or some such skill though.

May be a silly question but I have an SK/BRD/WIZ and have an incredible AoE build going right now so I made a WAR/ROG looking for a more melee/single-target playstyle and trying to figure out what to make my 3rd class. Would a WAR/ROG/RNG work or are you fairly dependent on the SK for sustain/lifetaps? Anyone have suggestions for a third class?

Also, that's awesome on your clear time.... pretty unreal actually. Me and three of my RL friends went in last night to check it out post-patch and its significantly improved since the first time we tried. We really didn't push but we did more than half of it in a hour and probably could have finished everything in a hour and a half if we really locked in.

RNG would be mostly wasted in that trio because their sustain is so reliant on taking advantage of bow/archery procs. You can still be in backstab range while shooting, but it makes the WAR kind of a waste. You'd need either Paladin or SK passive sustain or a dedicated priest to pair with the WAR/ROG. Cleric would synergize with RoRZ because of battle frenzy and DA is a fantastic melee buff. Shaman would synergize with the DoTs/poison, etc. and Rabid Bear is a fantastic buff with like 80% uptime. Druid got some juicy buffs recently as well and fit well also from a DoT standpoint, plus the nice wolf form buffs.

That's great info!! I really appreciate it. I had been going between druid and shaman but was also trying to future proof him thinking of PoP. Any opinions on shaman vs druid long term? Thanks again!

Ive heard RNG/CLR/BRD is the jam. I saw a dude farming VT with this setup on a stream. Basically his setup was AC, ATK DEX and AGI (for the AC and mitigation) and the only sustain he needed was one of those healing augs on his bow. But he was only using bow. He only had like 300 spell and healing and it was keeping him all nice and cozy.

I rolled up a RNG/BRD/SK and got him to 55 and like 100AA during this exp weekend but he needs a LOT more AA before he comes online. But I can see that fucking bow proccing shit like crazy. Its a 2Her so you can stick 2 augs in it. Its that stupid fast bow too, I think its 30/18? Which the quiver you get even makes it faster. Ive read the ceiling for delay on bows is 10. So with a good quiver you can get it there im sure. The thing I read about the bow which makes it different than normal weapons is the procs can go off on ANY shot. So if you triple attack, it can proc 3x. Most other weapons its on the initial swing. Its proccing both life taps, the AA one and the spell proc, plus the atk gem I have in there right now. Then ranger gets proc spells too so that shit is going off too. All the while the bard is doing his thing, healing, hasting, slowing everything around.

Depending on how the SK works out I might switch it out to a CLR, well see.

It depends on whether or not they give Shaman panther. If they do, I'd lean Shaman for the future. If they don't, I think they're both pretty even in most scenarios. I'd lean slightly toward Shaman in a mostly melee setup and toward Druid in more of a caster/hybrid setup.
