He casts it every 60, not every 2.Like I said before, why bother to remove curse when in 2 seconds he just casts it again. Its dumb and stupid. Shaman have an AA that removes it too. But why? for the 5 seconds of no 90% slow?
Well every time I tried to decurse, he just put it right back on me, maybe my timing was off or whatever....He casts it every 60, not every 2.
Yeah, if you decurse at 58secs, he's going to drop it 2 secs later. Remove Greater Curse helps big time too.Well every time I tried to decurse, he just put it right back on me, maybe my timing was off or whatever....
Yar, it's just timing. When I started doing Emp on my Zrk/MNK/CLR I wasn't hawking the buff/debuff window for it and would often notice it right before the reapply. The slow is also the knockback, so while it's annoying to get knocked around, it's a good reminder to cure it, if you click off levitate/Dead Man Floating for the fight.Well every time I tried to decurse, he just put it right back on me, maybe my timing was off or whatever....
I only use NEC/BST/MAG to kill bosses (Seru, Emp, Sleeper) and it's pretty active, in terms of always casting a spell and flirting with disaster. Since people brought up AFK XPing in this thread recently, I've also been trying to do that in VT, but keep coming back to a dead character after 6-8 hours (my internet can have spurts of lag, so it could be a ISP issue).I’m thinking about changing nec/bst/mag to bard/bst/mag.
Seems like it’d add a bit more fun. 3x pet is kinda boring. I’m reading it’s super easy to kill shit with bard songs going plus the two pets plus your own melee and barely even requires healing
just people aren’t sure which will be better in PoP but easy enough to swap back
I only do VT on SK/Rog/Wiz, and have only managed 1 clear where I didn't afk or tab out during it, sometimes in the middle of a boss fight. That took around 1.5 hours.Fastest I've gotten VT done on my "main"(BER/CLR/MNK) is 1hr 12m. If it wasn't for all those summoning fuckers I could probably cut it to just under an hour.
But yeah, VT and this whole expac is just a boring slog. I typically just do my Keras on my main and 2 alts each night, then log off. I really only do the VT clears on the weekend, and usually just 2-3.
Nah, it's the random ripostes that cause the summons. Damage shield doesn't. I try to run at them fast enough so that they "trigger" my back by the time they agro, but without Bard speed you get the occasional frontal swing that can be ripostes. Then once you get summoned, that'll usually trigger MORE ripostes, starting a total fuck fuck cycle. I usually try to dive out of LOS and feign, but sometimes you just have to stay down for the entire reset to happen.I only do VT on SK/Rog/Wiz, and have only managed 1 clear where I didn't afk or tab out during it, sometimes in the middle of a boss fight. I should probably switch to BER/MNK/CLR, but I'm not familiar with long clear cooldown use to make it more efficient. Additionally, I keep getting damage shield augs from sleeper and that's what often cause the summoning mobs to summon on the BER/MNK/CLR.
Regarding AFK - I put my duder at the slimes in DN by the drop down into the water. Then I went to my girlfriend’s house around 5 PM and came back home around noon the next day. Came back to 96 AA. The SK/ROG/Wiz has been the most active in all situations due to hard casting Wiz spells, but I don't think much of anything is going to change the fact that VT is just a straight 1.5+ hour dull slog.
Well, the first time I did the AFK in VT I came back, after ~7 hours, to the character sitting in the Bazzar, but also had a fully leveled item (don't know what it started at) and 100AA, from less than 10 at the start. The next time I did it, I came back to character in Baz and only 50ish AA, and the final time I tried, I was killed before 30 AA. That first time AFKing really motivated me to try to get VT working, but it was also the only attempt I had lingering DRU/CLR buffs (with full +time items and AA some buffs can last ~3 hours).Regarding AFK - I put my duder at the slimes in DN by the drop down into the water. I did the same spot last night and in 8 hours I got 36 AA. So I’m up like 750 AA now.
I likewise tried in VT and came back dead after a whole 2 AA.
Oooh. That’s cool. Yeah I need to play with it more also…I’m really not that experienced there to know where to leave.Well, the first time I did the AFK in VT I came back, after ~7 hours, to the character sitting in the Bazzar, but also had a fully leveled item (don't know what it started at) and 100AA, from less than 10 at the start. There are quite a few rooms with 2-4 mobs if you want to start small and then other rooms with 5+. It's pretty variable.Oooh. That’s cool. Yeah I need to play with it more also…I’m really not that experienced there to know where to leave.
Huh, interesting. I’ll see how that works too. There are quite a few rooms with 2-4 mobs if you want to start small and then other rooms with 5+. It's pretty variable.
There's a spot at slimes right when you enter the giant floor door, right at the turn where the dragon bones are that you should be able to stand to aggro all 5 slimes. I've never done it, but just having pulled that hallway so many times, it seems feasible you'd be able to agro all 5 by standing in the right spot.
I only tried one spot so far, and that's in the hall right before the first slime boss. It has 6 mobs that all respawn 1 "ghost" when they die, so 12 kills in one room. The room before that hall has another 6ish mobs, but I think they will overwhelm the AFK, especially if the Bst & Nec pets don't get agroed with the mage pet. Since none of the bosses are up in respawning, you can use any of them to flop in and port to baz to wipe agro faster. I also use the necro invulnerable shield to run to flop spot.Oooh. That’s cool. Yeah I need to play with it more also…I’m really not that experienced there to know where to leave.
Sweet. I’ll test them out later.I only tried one spot so far, and that's in the hall right before the first slime boss. Like Kirun said, there are halls/rooms with less mobs in them. The front door might even be a good hallway spot. If you have a rogue of any kind, you can probably sneak around and see any zone by level 20 or 30 (maybe).
This is the spot I use as well. Petcuck has all AAs at this point and only now do it to get the mage pet geared. Delevel to 55, Sleep overnight, 100 AAs. Go to work, 100 AAs. Boost back to 60 to farm bosses.Regarding AFK - I put my duder at the slimes in DN by the drop down into the water. The afk AAing has kinda spoiled me. Not looking forward to manually grinding out a ton of AAs on my other toons.
