100% agreed.I was half-expecting Joel to die at the end, and I'm glad that they avoided that shitty cliche, and that there were no multiple endings or any of that nonsense. The one ending they wrote was perfect as far as I'm concerned.
Asking why you can't play The Last of Us on the PC is like asking why you can't play Mario on a Xbox.Maybe this has been addressed already but I haven't read anything in this thread for fear of spoilers. Why aren't they releasing this on PC? Even the most half-assed of ports can't take much dev time and are usually fine as long as you play them with a gamepad. It just seems the reason to have exclusives is to sell consoles. At this stage in the PS3's life the exclusives fail at that purpose. I'm guessing if they franchise this game that the next one will be on PS4 so it seems getting PC gamers hooked into the series will help to sell PS4 consoles. I just can't understand the business side of not porting it.
I understand that but it's more of a track record kind of thing. Nintendo has plenty of exclusives and it's more of a part of their business model. That becomes a problem for PS3 and X360 when almost every game is ported to PC or the opposing console. I own a PC and a Wii and I can play 99% of released games. It's just annoying for me when a great game isn't ported to PC off the PS3 and X360. It's so incredibly rare that it doesn't justify the console cost.Asking why you can't play The Last of Us on the PC is like asking why you can't play Mario on a Xbox.
Sony's exclusives are just as much as part of their business model as Nintendo's are for Nintendo. They have had the most and best exclusives for quite some time and it is a major selling point for their systems. You seem to be confused as "almost every game is ported to PC" is ridiculously inaccurate.I understand that but it's more of a track record kind of thing. My main point was that if they ported this one and then made a PS4 exclusive it seems they could sell more of the consoles they want to sell. Don't they make almost all of their money off selling games and not the consoles themselves? It seems selling PS3's at this point won't net many game sales for that customer with only a year or two left on developed games. It seems someone who buys a PS4 on release and has 6-8 years of game development for it will end up with more bought/gifted and making them more money. Also factor in that many PS3 games now sell for a fraction of the cost they were on release and even if someone went buckwild with the old PS3 library they wouldn't be making as much as selling a bunch of $60 release games for the new console.
