Given the alternatives, the right person was probably elected both times however for very different reasons

Both McCain and Romney were awful but at least the press wouldn't roll over and play dead for them when they pulled some of the shit that Obama has pulled.

I would be interested in going back and giving McCain a chance after seeing how all this turned out but it's still not quite the shit soup necessary to make me pine for the lost possibilities of Romney/Ryan.

I'm not sure which of the three is worse.

Please, because the press was so vigilant in their efforts against Bush and the Republican Congress in passing shit like the Patriot Act and the FISA amendment. And they sure stood up to the administration when he was talking about taking us to war. The press goes with the story that sells. The NSA story doesn't sell, regardless of who is President, because people don't understand it. Not even enough to make up their own narrative, like the Zimmerman trial. More and more, I don't even care who is President. Sure, Romney would have been worse, probably McCain too, but it ultimately wouldn't really matter.

Hah! We agree, it really wouldn't matter. The hurt from Obama is worse though. My question would be why doesn't it matter, and what does it take to change it. Not that well ever see it happen.

The only way to have any real change is to stop voting for Republicans and Democrats. Obama is proof that you are just kidding yourself pretending there are any substantial difference between them. Of course Romney or McCain would have been just as bad if not worse. Until people get past the idea that you have to vote for one or the other, enjoy the status quo.

Rand Paul is leading the pack of GOP candidates for the 2016 election and is very similar to his father. The guy is a very impressive speaker and is a very libertarian/republican. Excited for the prospect of him winning an election and reigning in the federal government.

Oldschool GOP/GOP leadership (Boehner, Priebus, Cantor, Ryan, Tom, Dick & Harry) will do their best to sabotage him. You just watch. -_-

No doubt. But if he has enough support then he'll be able to overcome the opposition...hopefully.

The best thing the dems could do to assure their victory in 2016 is to get someone in close to Rand to encourage him to run regardless of winning the republican primary and sabotage his chances of doing that. A right wing split would be a very easy victory for Clinton II.

Clinton(f) is probably a lock anyhow. She's timed it well and distanced herself from the current administration and frankly, who the fuck are the Republicans going to run against her? Odds against anyone soft on terrorists (slash pro privacy) or sane regarding patent laws or IP law in general.

Not that it matters anyhow. It'll be about immigrants and abortion and family values as smokescreen and fundamentally about the economy. Since Bill won that last time, she'll carry through regardless unless Obama seriously shits the bed in the last few years.

Hilary has gotten brutally ugly over the past 10 years. Not just ugly, but "oh fuck she's on tv, I have to change the channel" ugly. I hope I don't have to look at her for 4 years.

Politics is all about performance art and looks. So I have to agree. Hillary isn't getting elected looking like she is atm.

The hate for hillary is strong, wait until she starts whining about opposition to her is sexist, in exactly the same manner that obama supporters claim any opposition to him is racist.

Hillary

I remember them taking so many bribes in a blatant kinda way, that's how I remember them. I remember there where Chinese diplomats trying to hand bill a check directly during a white house visit. One of the reasons I liked ross perot so much was I figured he was rich already so it was less likely he would compromise himself purely for money, bill and Hillary where poor so you knew exactly what they where doing.

that kenneth star stuff was all made up far as I can tell, but there was plenty of things going on to super annoy anyone with reason if you looked hard enough.

so when you ask why is american money being used to create jobs in china instead of america you can think about how bill clinton was routinely bribed by them, and what things bill did to encourage that. like repealing glass stegal, like the trade agreements he signed with china, and how he intervened to practically give away one of thelargest deep water ports in the world in california, there was all kinds of things they did for money.
