I remember you where saying anything spoken was a credible language that should be embraced by all.
I remember saying if you show up to a job interview and speak like trash don't expect to get hired.

Guess how my diction is when the lights are on me like in court? Also guess how good my posts are at 4 am in pass out tired mode. I'm perfectly willing to correct myself all the time but obsessing on form over content is way over rated and insulting honestly.

That you care that much about spelling, vs the content of all the other posts in this thread. That shares a symptom with ocd, unwilling to alter behavior regardless of surrounding.

p.s. say you mastered spelling, you never mastered organizing thoughts into paragraphs that's for sure, and I NEVER busted your balls about it either.

What it comes down to really, is they are making supreme court style decisions in this secret court.

Roberts's Picks Reshaping Secret Surveillance Court

The court's complexion has changed at a time when its role has been expanding beyond what Congress envisioned when it established the court as part of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. The idea then was that judges would review applications for wiretaps to make sure there was sufficient evidence that the F.B.I.'s target was a foreign terrorist or a spy.

But, increasingly in recent years, the court has produced lengthy rulings interpreting the meaning of surveillance laws and constitutional rights based on procedures devised not for complex legal analysis but for up-or-down approvals of secret wiretap applications. The rulings are classified and based on theories submitted by the Justice Department without the participation of any lawyers offering contrary arguments or appealing a ruling if the government wins.

List of every Fisa Court judge since it was founded in 1978

You remember incorrectly.

Anyway, sorry for busting your balls, but the point I was trying to make here is that your choice of words matters, especially if you want people to be able to take you seriously. Mixing up were/where, your/you're, to/too and using apostrophes for plurals all make you look like someone who couldn't give less of a shit whether or not you're communicating properly. That, in turn, detracts from the strength of whatever points you're trying to make. In a perfect world, your ideas would be judged exclusively on their inherent merit, but we live in a world where the medium is the message. I mean, how well-thought-out can your ideas be when you have yet to grasp that "too" either means "in addition" ("Me too!") or "in excess of what's expected" ("It's too hot outside")?

Of course, all communication is context-driven. I don't expect everyone to triple-check their posts for grammatical integrity. This is an informal gathering of ideas and the texts reflect that. Certainly, it is neither necessary nor even ideal for everyone to structure their thoughts into cogent, self-contained paragraphs, especially since the majority of posts contain bite-sized nuggets of information designed to communicate potentially complex ideas as efficiently as possible. Mistakes will happen, but they can certainly be minimized by making the slightest effort to remember what you learned in elementary school. On the other hand, if you'd like to continue sounding like a moron rather than paying attention to a few incredibly simple rules, feel free to do so. Just don't be surprised when someone calls you out on it.

Yeah, it's a dog and pony show. Nothing real will come out of it, they just want some photo ops to placate the people who are paying attention enough to be upset about the surveillance.

It's hard to tell anything from that video of the crash but it's very odd that he didn't seem to hit the brakes at all until going off the road.

EDIT: also, I saw Snowden made it to Venezuela. Anyone think he'll drop anymore info now?

Politicians of all stripes are starting to move against widespread domestic surveillance.http://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/29/us...llance.html?hp
Good I think most congressman are marginalized from the nsa and many of them are genuinely scared on reflection about future possibilities.

Demoralization is a big problem with cleaning up the political process, everybody saying "nothing will change" is only assuring it never will. nothing is certain.

Don't ever expect change overnight or even in your lifetime, but only through consistent purpose.

It just occurred to me, I bet we have the NSA to thank for all those hacked celebrity cell phones giving us the gift of nekkid famous people. They could probably turn the tide of public opinion in their favor by releasing a lot more and taking full credit.

Isn't that how science works, keep testing idea's until they break? you're making this big presumption like you can know everything, most things you won't ever actually know if they are true or not, you have to trust the talking head your listening too or look at physical evidence, in this case the physical evidence doesn't eliminate the possibility.

And it's perfectly natural to never know the real answer, who the fuck said there was an answer for everything.

Right now right this second everyone who reads this sentence there are at least some things you think you "know" and are completely wrong about in reality.
No that isn't how science works. In science you have an idea and you have to bring supporting evidence to prove it true. What he says is any phoney idea is legit until proven false. That's hogwash and complete opposite to any scientific proof. If you have a conspiracy theory you have to prove it right you give it a leg to stand on.

That's not true aspects of astro physics for example were purely speculated and hypothesized before they could ever be tested, it fit a framework of available knowledge but lacked direct evidence which was later proven or disproven, so no you're completely wrong.

You never heard of a fuckinghypothesisbefore? You have to have one before it can be tested.

XKeyscore: NSA tool collects 'nearly everything a user does on the internet'

A top secret National Security Agency program allows analysts to search with no prior authorization throughvast databasescontaining emails, online chats and the browsing histories of millions of individuals, according to documents provided by whistleblower Edward Snowden.

The NSA boasts in training materials that the program, called XKeyscore, is its "widest-reaching" system for developing intelligence from the internet.

The files shed light on one of Snowden's most controversial statements, made in his first video interview published by the Guardian on June 10.

"I, sitting at my desk," said Snowden, could "wiretap anyone, from you or your accountant, to a federal judge or even the president, if I had a personal email".

It's all lies. And if the government lies about it being lies, well, it's secret so they couldn't tell us the truth.

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2013/07/3...l#.Ufj3GY2sh8E

From the XKeystone article:
One document, a top secret 2010 guide describing the training received by NSA analysts for general surveillance under the Fisa Amendments Act of 2008, explains that analysts can begin surveillance on anyone by clicking a few simple pull-down menus designed to provide both legal and targeting justifications. Once options on the pull-down menus are selected, their target is marked for electronic surveillance and the analyst is able to review the content of their communications:

Yeah I heard that one before, they can spy for like a week before they have to get a rubber stamped FISA warrant from the secret star chamber constructed in secret underground near the capital.

think about that, they built a secret room underground to have a 1 sided court hearing where you literally have a higher chance of getting hit by lightning than getting your warrant rejected, and on top of that they still give themselves a week of leeway time to look around before they make their case,

Look at the behavior that's possible with this setup. I bet there were cases where they used to the stuff that should have required a warrant to get to help build the case for having the warrant approved after they already did the thing that should have required a warrant in the first place.
