Yeah, the episode was way boring. This tiny woman can beat up that crazy Magpie woman? Sofia is just able to gas everyone to death under the nose of all the goons and mobsters who distrust her and think she's a loose cannon or fucking crazy or both? Yeah sure, I guess the plot demands these spectacle events even if logic doesn't apply .

I like the Sophia character. She's a good example of a girlboss done right. Sneaky and backstabbing, not some super powerful mega butch bitch that can beat up men and solve any problem and is always the smartest person in the room.
She's played down to earth like a smart vulnerable woman. She needs the men around her to do the dirty work. I think she's a great villain.
Clancy Brown is great in everything, from highlander to shawshank to whatever bit part he does in some tv show.
One thing that's been hit or miss for me is the music but they really nailed it with that Cure song this week. Perfect vibe for that scene.

They never really delved into the penguin backstory but he was a mafioso so it fits his character. The falcones were in some stories. Batman, Gotham, New York is home to a lot of mafia. It's just mostly about batman, not the crooks.

Presumably he had some idea of what he would find down there before they made the trek, so if he hadn't previously scouted it, he maybe heard a rumor from someone else who had been down there. They may have told him they were doing some work down there before the Riddler flooded the city.

Her uncle? That was her girlboss moment. Signaled to all the underlings that she's the boss and things are going to be different moving forward. I think the intent all along was to show she was only keeping him alive to make an example out of him. Showing her cunning and manipulation.
