I mean it is showing that she is the mafia boss but not in an unreasonable way. I just thought she only kept him alive to make an example out of him later. What other reason did she have for leaving him alive? She could have done away with him earlier with the rest of the family. It was theatrical but planned. Not impulsive.

Yeah, too many mental hurdles to resolve. Super vintage generator, somehow has non corroded points and spark to light off many years old fuel? Some of the guys here missed that this room was set up by Oz and his brothers. So at least ten years since he was down there. Probably 15 to 20. This was a decent episode, but that dude was stupid not to kill Sofia the first chance he got. She was clearly going to kill him and he pushed his luck further by dismissing her Gigante gang idea in front of everyone. That shit was just dumb.
Yadda yadda aside, I love this. Sophia is scary lol. Understandable, have a good day Ma'am.

Yeah I wondered about that as well. I just shrugged it off. There was another scene that bothered me more.
How would a person not smell the gasoline? "What have you done to my son, why is he all wet"? How would you not even consider that it was not gasoline? As soon as her son got within 10 feet of her, she would have smelled what it was, and would have had him get the fuck out. She would not have hugged him......WTF? Now if he had lit it as he ran too her....maybe.
That scene bothered me more than the generator working many years later.
Loved when strong female mafia boss Sofia shot the guy in front of her new crew. That got me back into the show. That part was well done.
Still enjoying the show...

I don't think Sophia will be able to kill Oz's mom. She's too schizo about that one issue and they've been telegraphing it for a long time now. Oz moved heaven and earth to protect his mom from any of this and he's an extreme momma's boy.
I can see her dying and this makes Oz become the Penguin for real or Vic dying. One of them will get got so he loses something big but maintains a win. I bet he kills the hooker himself though.

Outside of one or two, Sopranos never had the cast to pull off these moments. Oz is able to sell what would otherwise be laughably stupid.

Keep in mind this show is over in 2 episodes. Not the season, but the show. Sofia is going to kidnap Oz's mom and let Clancy Brown have her, perhaps she changes her mind and kills him, but Sofia isn't really interested in killing women. she has to give Clancy something, so this will be it so their alliance can happen. But as I said, she may change her mind because Penguin has all the muscle and she and Clancy don't have shit. The smart move is to deal with Penguin and remove Clancy from the picture.
