I don't recall tipping the delivery people who came with my mattress. Its their job it sounds retarded to give someone more money for doing their job correctly. God I fucking hate tipping culture.

In my first cab ride ever I told the guy to keep the change (2 cents). I had no idea you were supposed to tip them and the guy gave me a look like I murdered his entire family.

I normally don't tip run of the mill delivery people. I do if it's something out of the ordinary like some equipment. Since this is the south I always ask if they want something to drink or something for the road.

Well if it was just a delivery I wouldn't, but they're bringing it up stairs and assembling it too. Also they're taking our old mattresses. If people don't normally tip that's fine, was just gonna pass each person a 20 for lunch or whatever.

The Truth About Mattresses | Tuft & Needle

Don't know if they are any good, as I haven't tried them myself, but a coworker's daughter is saying they are quite stellar.
From Consumer Reports.

CR's Take
This well-priced foam mattress from the relatively new Tuft & Needle has a number of good points, but buy it more for the bargain price than for stellar support: It was mediocre for both back and side support. Where the mattress did stand out was in how it showed only minor changes in performance after eight years of simulated use. It transmitted little vibration from one side of the bed to the other, and changing positions was no problem. We also found it very breathable, important for shoppers who feel that foam beds "sleep hot." And since it measures only 10 inches high, you won't need deep-pocket fitted sheets.
HighsThis mattress performed very good in our durability tests, showing only minor changes in performance. It proved to be very stable and limited the amount of vibration transmitted. The mattress's surface was very good at conforming to various shapes, maximizing contact with the sleeper, and it was more breathable than others, potentially reducing perspiration.
LowsWe judged this mattress softer than claimed, and it lacked grips, which could make handling difficult.
Detailed test resultsThis Tuft & Needle foam mattress performed good in side-support tests, which look at the alignment of the spine, and performed good in back-support tests, which analyze how well 36 points on the torso are supported. In our durability test, which analyzes the mattress's change in firmness, sag, and damage over a period of up to 8 years of simulated use, this mattress performed very good, showing only minor changes in performance. It proved to be very stable, limiting the amount of vibration felt. Its surface conformed to most shapes and was more breathable than others, potentially reducing perspiration. We measured the firmness to be medium.
They give it a 64 when the highest rating of all the memory foam type gets a 70. It is recommended and cheaper then all those with higher rating by a fair amount and also cheaper then those with worse ratings.

I bought that boxed foam mattress from costco. It was about $800 for a king. It sleeps well, it even has a layer of memory foam on top. But the sex is not as good as an old school spring one. Have to get the wife on the edge, anything in the middle is just not good, you kind of sink in and it gets all fucked up and no spring back either. 7/10 but only for the sex thing. its more like a 9/10 for sleeping.

memory foam is memory foam, just buy your mattress online from those direct to consumer places like casper or other places like that.

Just ordered a $200 memory foam from wayfair for the guest room at the new house. Will compare to the 2k one my wife and I have for our bedroom

I had a few Amazon gift cards laying around from Christmas that I needed to use. We are closing on our new home in a month, and I needed something to power a 2-story home. This thing is MASSIVE and ugly looking, and so far very powerful. Plugged in and online in less then 5 minutes and has a TON of features.

I don't know who decided that people want their router to look like the witch king of Angmar but I wish they would knock it off.

Yeah, I guess people want it to be an eye piece in their house? Mine is tucked away in a network closet never to be seen again. The plus side, it has been on all day; of course, and not the least hot at all. Cool to the touch.

Amen... I was reading reviews on new windows and half the people where like "and we tipped the installers" - WHY!? they ACCEPT contracts and bids on the cost, they say "We will do X job for Y$" why should I tip them? where did tipping get started? Tip the barber because he didn't slit your throat? Tip the mob boss because he didn't kill your family?

I should go to the rustled jimmys thread.

It's asus' Republic of Gamers brand crap. Trying to always market themselves to gamers.

Here's a hint Asus - just put out a quality product (you already do) and people will buy your stuff, and you won't push out the guys that don't want absolutely hideous fucking Sauron's Routers in your house.

Put it on top of a black spray painted pringles can to hide the wires and make it a tower!

Yeah it is pretty ugly but you can always buy another type.

Just got a Pentax Spotmatic F camera from ebay yesterday. Paid $70 with s/h for this thing and its mint-. Came with a 50mm f1.4 SMC Takumar lens. The lens alone is worth $100-$130 when sold alone. and i can use it on my canon DSLR too with an adapter. Solid all metal fully mechanical camera with a meter. First camera to have open aperture metering.

I figure I shoot some film again, its been a while. I found out there is a lab like 1/2 mile from my house that sells and processes film along with scanning services. There is just something about film and the different emulsions that digital cannot do. Its almost as if digital is just to perfect and sterile. Should be fun being a hipster and shooting film again.

I also took out my medium format camera that shoots 120 film too. Its an old east German pentacon six. Takes 6x6 cm negs. I have not used that thing since the 90s. Its like 1960s fully manual fully mechanical camera that takes zeiss glass. I have the 80mm f2.8 and the 120mm f2.8.

If you don't have a darkroom your post-processing is going to be limited to whatever the lab spits back out at you, so that kinda sucks.
