I dunno. I still think Gab has a dirty secret. No way he holed up in that church and lived off can foods for 17 months.
I still wonder if the crosses on the car is related to him somehow. I know that is out there but it has never added up for me.

This was a return to the writing of the past and the episode was pretty meh. On the upside it did mean a return of ninja zombie which is always good for a laugh.

For those interested I give you an internet neckbeard zombie warrior test.

Scenario:

One of your companions has been badly injured and has slipped into a coma. You are not sure if he will survive and there is nothing you can do for him except make him comfortable. You hope that he will awaken and decide to wait.

You are a veteran survivor but you have no resources and are in an exposed position, you decide to:

A. Do nothing and hope for the best.
B. Leave the bastard. He's a liar and you are not sure you would want to keep him around even if he makes it. Plus you never liked him anyways.
C. Construct a makeshift gurney, secure your groupmate and move to a more defensible location. (Chance that some of your companions may leave the group)
D. Bind his hands and feet just incase.

If you answered A you failed.

Ya in the scene where Sasha is talking to Bob before he knocks her out you can see a crew member walking around in the back. That was lazy editing.
How many times have we seen Rick come up with a good plan, be talked out of it, shit goes wrong and he turns into rambo robot for awhile again. It is like every time he comes back to humanity he gets screwed and repeats it all over again.
The interesting thing for me was the timeline. It was said in Talking Dead the season 2 ep5 scene where Lori and Shane see the glow in the distance was when the military was napalming Atlanta. That would have been 70-80 days after things went to shit and most cities had fallen/highways were clogged with dead people so for awhile there must have been some chain of command left and even after the CDC incident.

I thought this episode was better than the previous 2 for me, but that's just me.

for me this was the worst episode of the season, ridiculous and just plain bad writing. what saved it from being terrible was that parking lot scene and the level of detail in setting all of it up from the burned pink skin zombies to the scorched tarmac to the burned out trailers, that shit was fucking brilliant set design.

I am 3 weeks behind, but I also drink Monday nights so fuck it. Decided to watch stuff tonight, this might end up being multiple posts of worthless detritus.

Bus flip was turbo retarded. Michael Bay scoffed at that scene.

1st observation, they did a fantastic job of setting up Dr. Mullet as a pussy and then giving him a window where he had to act, and then he only sort of fucked it up. I'm having a hard time buying in to him as a character, but that particular zombie attack was handled perfectly from his perspective, and in the background showing Abraham as a zombie killing machine.

I'm 11 minutes in to this episode, there will be a lot of edits to this post probably...

This bitch is joking about bikes...but seriously. They have to be the easiest mode of transportation to find and with minimal effort they'll cut your travel time in half/third easily. Why the fuck is no one riding bikes already?

edit: Oh, the bus is randomly on fire like it's made of rice paper...

More edit: They're scavenging water from a toilet tank...do they not have BOILING TECHNOLOGY? Any fucking water source is acceptable if you have fire. What the fuck...

Edit 3: That character I didn't buy in to as a genius just admitted to going full pervert retard...

edit 4: HOLY FUCK I MIGHT LOSE THE WALKING DEAD AND AMC BASED ON THIS OBSCENELY OBTRUSIVE FULL SCREEN AD!!!!!

Was there supposed to be some religious metaphor with the priest steeping on the nail? Being nailed to the cross / punished for sins?

Earlier in the episode when they were chopping up parts of the church, he did ask if they planned to take the cross down. Also there was the moment with the walker that he fought and he saw her with the cross, which stopped him smashing her with the rock. But that was a pretty obvious thing for his character to react to in the moment.

I didn't pay much attention this episode. Seemed boring. That kind of shit is why I stopped watching 2 seasons ago. I still never watched last season, and don't plan to.

Episode was pretty dull, but I think it was needed to setup this weeks.

There were vines on the sign during the teaser I think, which would suggest some manner of time lapse.

Some wtf moments in this episode:

1 - Van falling off the bridge and then minimal injuries afterward (van itself didn't get too beat up either other than broken winshield)
2 - Previous episode the zombies basically disintegrate when getting doused with the fire hose but this episode stay intact after falling 50 ft on top of the van.
3 - Carol gets ran over without hearing any vehicle coming at her.

Overall thought it was an ok episode.
to be fair, the van apparently knocked out the side rails on that bridge and didn't even have a scratch at the front. Much more sturdy than a regular van!

Stealth cars seem to be a thing this season. First Carol's hit, then the stealth police backup (which also seems to be bullet proof)

Ya in the scene where Sasha is talking to Bob before he knocks her out you can see a crew member walking around in the back. That was lazy editing.
it kinda pales compared to the idiocy of knocking someone out by smashing their head against simple glass.

I don't see anyone, though.

I can't be the only who thinks that the tempo & writing was terribly slow this season? Anyone? Beuller?

its definitely just you. best half season yet. one or 2 episodes were not great, but overall this is what this show should have always been like.
